Is this getting posted twice?
So, I finally watched some Invader Zim. I have a few observations:
1. It's funny, insofar as it's not unfunny. Insofar as if it was on as I was channel surfing (HA to both me channel surfing anymore, and to it being on -- thank you, expanded cable) I would stop on an episode, but I would never buy the DVDs.
2. GIR is actually me in sixth grade. This is not an exaggeration. Yes, I even exploded on command.
3. Okay, that latter part was an exaggeration; but seriously . . . I would probably have sung the doom song if I'd thought of it -- at great length, until I got hit, and then for a little while after . . .
4. Most of the jokes, I found myself not laughing at, as I had heard them too many times (in varying forms), or because I think my brain thinks it's too sophisticated :-\
5. I can't even imagine how much this show must have influenced Simon -- there's too much of his personality in it for me to believe otherwise, from the manic voice inflections of screamitude to the constant uttering of "taco".
Overall? I give it a 7; my curiosity is satiated.
