I felt like I was going to die. It can't be healthy, having your muscles clench like that and your breathing so fast that you're gasping, with your mouth dry and your entire body convulsing.

No, I can't die. I am, although it's strange to say, alive. Awake. Drunk? Buzzing, can't walk, can't breathe, can't swallow, can't stop shaking.
