Sakura Matsuri

Well... that was fun.

Today I met up with two others from the NYC Anime Meetup and spent the afternoon wandering about the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Twenty-Fifth Annual "Sakura Matsuri" festival. *sighs* And of course, I forgot to borrow a camera from the family stock. *mutters something very uncomplementary about Murphy*

Still, it was a good time. Lots of Japanese-culture interest groups were out of the wood work and sharing said interests with Garden-goers. There was even an anime cosplay booth hosted by AnimeNEXT. The three of us Meetup guys spent quite a bit of time hanging around that one, playing cameraman mostly as we weren't in cosplay yet hung around for more than a moment or two. LOTS of interesting conversation there.

When we finaly bugged out, somebody suggested this real ramen shop in midtown... so, off we went. And it was good eats, too.

Oh yea. And afterward, I happened to pick a good one for dessert: the nearby Ben&Jerry's had a limited batch of baklava ice cream. O_o;
