New Year Same Old Tripe!

Well first post of a new year, well I couldn’t avoid mentioning the weather, or my constant battle to stay upright due to aforementioned!

Christmas itself, was an uneventful one, it snowed on the Tuesday and this threw Blackpool into road chaos as, 1,there had been no gritters out, 2 the snow was freezing to the roads, 3 the good (lol) drivers of Blackpool seem to go to pieces the first flake of snow falls and things on the road grind to a halt, I was lucky, I think as the snow started just after I arrived in work and the handful of us the office were peering out at the blizzard the was falling in disbelief, as I kept hearing the line “we never get this here”, Wednesday we had slightly better roads on bus routes but no other roads were gritted, overnight Wednesday night into Thursday we had another dusting of snow, I didn't care as I drove the 2 mile drive to my parents, picked mum up to go shopping, where I slipped the first time, luckily the trolley I was pushing saved me hitting the ground too hard, which was good as I fitted mum a new flame effect electric fire in the living room to fill the hole where the broken unsafe gas one had been.
Christmas day I gained a pie pod as I call it, it’s an Aldi I-pod copy, 4 gig and handy for all the boring journeys I’m going to make not in the car, I had bi annual G and T on Boxing day, which was lovely with ice, then having the Monday I visited some old friends who live just north of Lancaster, by this time Blackpool had melted quite a bit, but north of Lancaster was quite tricky, in fact the 4X4 I was following got stuck and I added injury to insult by driving by in my luxury saloon with up the hill, admittedly with my traction control on Snow/Ice mode I still got to my destination and destroying their children’s snowman by driving too fast onto the drive, comically leaving its head upside done on my boot, semi intact ,I expect that may cause lots of counselling sessions in later life the “Christmas the trannie killed my snowman” maybe a future bestseller!
Having to work between Christmas and New Years Day meant a daily routine of clearing freezing windscreens, and falling taking rubbish out and twisting my leg and knee falling on ice, twice in fact, thus this forced me to purchase a folding walking stick, as my hiking one looks silly in everyday use, and limping around the office, and spending New Years Eve with my leg up for all the wrong reasons!
Well after a few weeks of using the net/notebook thingy I’m back to a full sized keyboard and screen and finding work tedious, hating living in this cold little flat, in a cold miserable Blackpool, in boring job ,I’ve fell over again so my legs and rear are hurting, slowly its getting less but my knees still sore and I’m getting fed up really with everything, bar my new pie pod and my little netbook.
