Drace was not a beautiful woman but, rather, handsome. Her body was well-muscled, as one might expect, given the weight of the armour she wore and the weapons she carried. And if her cheekbones were a little too high, and the line of her jaw a little too sharp, well, that did not matter much. For she was his, for all that half of her belonged to the law itself, though even that was of little consequence, for equally as much of Gabranth was the law's. In the evenings especially, after patrols and paperwork, she was even more his, and he thought often when she lay beneath him, urging him on, that no, she was not beautiful, nor pretty, nor handsome, nor any other sweet words one may give to describe a woman. She was his and whole, for all her scars, and perfect, for all her little imperfections, and he loved her.
