Holy frick I love FFXIII so much. I know I've complained that this was the only Final Fantasy to be lacking something in the "extra fun" area (i.e., FFX's temple puzzles), but all that is completely wiped away by the party's entrance into Arcyhlte Steppe (yeah, it was a hard one to spell and sound). Although... I get the feeling this is Square's cop out to try and lengthen the game a bit because it's noticably shorter than previous FFs, I DON'T CARE. I really must take a moment, step back, and appreciate the amount of work it must've taken just to create this location in the game. It is a huge expanse of land, scattered with treasure pods and enemies (that are COLOSSAL, by the way) and it is so very beautiful. It's just kind of hard to get from one place to another in this... rather large field.
I love watching people run/walk in movies, games, you name it. That's why I love LOTR, Pride and Prejudice (2005 - the movie!), etc. because more than 80% of those movies included characters just walking. And man, oh man, this part of FFXIII allows me to walk or run anywhere I please for as long as I please.
Up to this point, the world of FFXIII was really dull and unpleasant. It was really repetitive in some places, really gross-looking in others, and a bit too much in a few. I think the only locations I liked on Cocoon so far are Hope's house in Felix Heights in Palumpolum, Lake Bresha crystallized, the Sunleth Waterscape when it's sunny, and the Palamecia (though it kind of doesn't count...).
Current progress through the game: Midway into Chapter 10.
Such a pretty game... I really can't wait for their next game (excluding the online one =_=)
Oerba Yun Fang has stolen my heart. My favourite pairing in FFXIII is between Hope x Lightning and Lightning x Fang. You can't deny.
If you are not a fan of Colbie Caillat or Coldplay, I cannot understand you.
