Random thoughts on Merlin...
There's nothing here that is a spoiler for the actual plot...
This was apparently inspired by Smallville - I can see the similarity. Except that we presume Arthur will turn out better than Lex Luthor.
I confidently predict that there will be slash written before I get around to posting this.
The costumes remind me a bit of the recent Robin Hood. You take modern clothes and make them out of older looking fabrics. Merlin's outfit could be worn down a main street today without looking odd.
Merlin looks good in tight (and very unhistorical) trousers.
Although it's not historical, I can live with black and Asian actors in the cast - heck, ethnic minority actors need to eat too.
However, the bit that really irked my 'historical accuracy' button was this: There were NO tomatoes in that period.
And the bit that made me go "WHAT!" was when Merlin addressed the King. (and didn't get executed on the spot for disrespect)
So, a poll! (to see who knows more than the scriptwriters...)
