I've come to accept that children I meet will ask me if I'm fat, or why I'm fat. Yes, because people come in different shapes and sizes.
What I was not prepared for today was a 4-year-old girl informing me that I was fat, and fat people are clumsy and bump into things. And at first, all I could think of was how ignorant someone in her life must be. I explained to her that just because someone is fat, it doesn't make them clumsy, and thin people can be clumsy too. She then proceeded to argue that reeaaaallly fat people do bump into things. I mean, where do kids learn this stuff?? I told her that I thought what she said wasn't true, and it hurt my feelings.
Gahhh.
