Writer's Block: Total Transformation

Nov 23, 2007 21:03

The first dramatic thing I ever did was to spot bleach my hair (or frost) when I was in high school
I really dont see it as being much of a dramatic thing, but my mother reacted as if I had come into her house wearing a slinky black dress with a voluptuous bra stuffed with rice filled panty hose.
She begged me to let her dye the color back.Yeah, you know how that scene ended!
Since then, the most dramatic change I ever made was to shave my head completely when one of my dearest cousins got Breast Cancer and after having one of her breasts removed had to undergo Chemo therapy for any remnants that may lurk in her body. I promised that when she began to lose her hair I would fly down to El Paso and she could have the honors of balding me. It did not take long, obviously for this to happen and my trip was made post haste.
She and my wife and sister all participated in the ceremony and I kept my head completely bald until I saw her again with newly growing hair. her hair is now down to her waist and mine is regrettably not, due to the fact that I now work at a bank and must keep my professionalism in tact.
I occasionally miss the attention a bald head gets and I have been told that I look somewhat meaner and apparently (at times) somewhat attractive too. I dont know, it is such a pain to keep up. It was worth it to do for her, as I wished I could have done more. I would do it again in a heart beat if needed too, but seriously hope the need never arises.
