Speculation on an aspect of 5x21, plus some rambling squee

May 07, 2010 14:44

So... do we think Castiel is actually 100% human now, or is he still of angel stock, just with his powers completely run down? I know that in 2014, he SAYS he's human, but is that actually possible? Does a vesseled angel without grace become a human (Anna aside--she was BORN into a human body, so she never had a vessel that we saw), and HAS Castiel lost his grace?

If he IS completely human now, WHERE IS JIMMY? (And does this mean I've been angsting for no reason over Cas not being able to consent for him?) Is Cas mortal by conventional means now? If he survives, and both the boys do as well, will they teach him how to hunt and forge credit cards and have dirty Wincestuous threesomes? And will they keep him from becoming the wreck he is in 2014? I've been saying since Dark Side of the Moon that I can see how he goes down that path, and they've just been going that way ever since. I probably wouldn't think anything of him wanting more morphine or Dean tossing him a bottle of ibuprofen if we hadn't had The End, but since we DID, it just makes it so much more painful. :(

If he's not, there's a chance for him to get his powers back, right? Though I expect he has to be plugged into heaven to recharge, which, you know. I was telling clex_monkie89 in a fit of trying-to-fix-my-10k-story last night that angels should just be solar-powered or something, dammit. :P MAYBE GOD WILL STILL COME BACK AND SAVE EVERYONE. Though, lol, I can see God deciding that Cas is better off as a human just as easily as I can see Him restoring his angel-fu, which would bring us back to the points above.

I suppose this will all be moot next week, assuming they decide to deal with it in the middle of everything else they have to cover. XD OMG, BE NEXT WEEK, PLS. I CAN'T TAKE IT.

Also: GOOD LORD, SHOW, BE MORE AWESOME. I DARE YOU. CASTIEL. BOBBY. SAM. CROWLEY. DEAN. DEEEEAAAAAAATTTHHHHHH. I love Death EPICALLY, and I especially love that Lucifer aside, he's not just tied to Earth--he is EVERYWHERE, in all galaxies and all times. So, so perfect. ♥♥♥ I think he's the first person/supernatural being/anthropomorphic personification to tell Dean his sense of self-importance is inflated, too, lololol. Also, that he just HANDED OVER the ring (with conditions). That entire conversation, from the torrential rain to Dean breaking bread with Death to Death telling Dean exactly how powerful he is, was one of the most amazing, perfect scenes in any show I've seen recently.

My Crowley love continues to grow, btw, as if you're surprised. Crooooowwwwwleeeeeeyyyyyy. I love that he TOOK A PICTURE of his deal with Bobby, and that he threw in that extra clause of his own volition so Bobby could walk, though I assume that'll go with his soul, assuming Bobby wants it back or lives that long. gigglingkat says she doesn't trust Crowley at all, but I'm inclined to believe he wants to help them in his way, even if just to save himself. Though, maybe that's my GO love projecting--a spark of goodness deep down inside and all. ♥ (Wonder if he thinks Castiel is enough of a bastard to be worth liking? MORE CAS/CROWLEY INTERACTION, PLS.)

Brady was totally a slut, btw. :P Last week, he was Crowley's lover in league against Satan, and now he's Sam's demon lover--or maybe that should be the other way around, since they totally hooked up at Stanford. XDDDDDDD Crowley also thinks Sam and Dean are hot. If I was convinced that demons have a concept of sexual orientation beyond what they've picked up from humans and our silly boxes for each other, I would say that Crowley is TOTALLY GAY. Just, you know, saying. :D

Going back to my original point a bit, I also adore that phone conversation between Dean and Castiel. He apologized! In his matter of fact, not sugarcoating anything, Castiel way, which somehow made it even more amazing. \o/ I love love love that he has a spark of faith in the boys again, and that he can still be surprised by sheer human tenacity and determination--I made heart eyes when he told Sam that they exceeded his expectations. ♥

I love that FINALLY, JESUS CHRIST, Dean and Bobby talked about HOW AWESOME AND BADASS Sam is. Like, seriously. ♥♥♥♥ Sam was the one most overtly concerned about civilian casualties in the first couple of seasons, so I love that they're bringing that aspect of him back out now in a more grown-up way and that Dean's ACKNOWLEDGING it. Oh, my OTP. So broken and yet still so in love forever.

Also--"Remember when we used to just hunt wendigos? How simple things were?" / "Not really." Oh, boooyyyyssssss. :( I have faith that you will get that back someday!

I am a bit skeptical about any plan that involves Sam being TRAPPED IN LUCIFER'S CAGE, mind. Here's hoping they find a way around that or that Sam can be pulled out again. *worried* I watched the promo, and I AM AFEARED. Like, more than I was already, though it was, of course, an entirely subjective promo meant to make us rend our garments. IT'S WORKING. D:

...This was supposed to be a short post on Castiel's future. (Did I squee about the fact that he IS BACK IN MY LIFE? Because I don't think I did! CASTIEL IS BACK, YOU GUYS! *\o/*!) Now I've been writing it for over an hour, have digressed ENTIRELY, and am running late for the stuff I was going to do today. XD THIS IS WHY I DON'T META OFF THE CUFF, YOU GUYS. *starts counting down the hours until next week*
