Weekend

In some ways Mondays are worse than Fridays because you just have no oomph to get you started. At least on Fridays you are coasting down hill. Although the morning has gone quickly, I'm tired and want to go to sleep.

Last night we had the most phenomenal lightning storm and rain. Brendan and I opened the curtains on our bed and watched the crazy lightning. It was truly blinding at times, and fell asleep with this amazing fierce sky that was the colour of old bruises. At some point really early this morning there was the most earthshattering crack of lightning I've ever heard. I love how the rain suddenly gets heavier after a lightning flash. It is like they are trying to outdo each other. Love it. Brilliant weather. Although today it is overcast with the promise of more storms, and its 30 degress - so massively humid and gross.

The weeknd was good. I went to Reclaim the Night with Narn on Friday, which is a protest march and rally against Sexual Violence against Women. It felt good to march and be part of such an empowering group, and  I even ended up holding the big banner at one point :) Brendan was proud of me, which meant a lot.

Sunday Brendan and I had brunch and he read Chapter 3 to me, and we had a big discussion about his novel and the world he is creating. Its exciting to be part of it, and he awes me with his creativeness, which he takes for granted (in a good way)... just the way he puts words together, and creates these really concrete images. I'm always looking forward to seeing where it is going. Hopefully he will start posting some on his lj soon and you can see why I love it so much... hint hint BRENDAN!

We also found this totally random place full of little boutiques and cafes on the Brisbane river. We had eated Brunch and sat for ages, and Brendan asked if we could have icecream before he worked, but we couldn't think of anywhere near where we were, so we looked at the Refedex (roadmap) and saw a park and 'cinemas' marked on it at a wharf. Off we toddled, and we couldn't have planned it better!

Lovely day. I'm enjoying my Sundays with Brendan so much lately. It is really good that we are managing to find time to spend together with our crazy schedules.

This time in three weeks - will be our first full day in Japan. Hell Yes!

Love you all.
