Review: Cold Porcelain!

So I got around to doing a proper review on cold porcelain - and ended up making a video of it!

I know, I know - I've gone a little bit nuts with videos for the past week have I not? I filmed all of my latest videos using my iPad (and actually, the quality isn't half bad) and since I got a new video editing program (that ended up being really fun to use) I went a bit crazy XD lol!

But, at least some (kind of) decent videos got produced because of it, and happily I was in the middle of experimenting with cold porcelain, so that worked out well too! In the video, I do include a lot of information, so you should pause it when needed since I didn't bother using my voice, I used subtitles instead, so all of the info is written!

Hopefully it helps, and I've covered as much as I can - though keep in mind, this video is based on my perspective of my first impressions of it, and my limited experience in using the clay! Anyway, in other news . . .

These are the pieces of cold porcelain that has resulted from my experiments! And then I moved onto something harder . . .

My work in progress!! A Toothless figurine ^_^ I kind of use Toothless as a measuring stick, as it's by far the most complicated figurine I have ever done, and it needs so many parts to it, that it will really test out any clay I use to try make it! So far, I've been successful using Crayola Model Magic to make it, and Magiclay - so now, let's see how cold porcelain holds up!

Firstly, the head actually ended up being too heavy for its body, and kept drooping - so I ended up using an aluminium foil armature! First time ever I've used an armature  - but as you can see, it's worked quite well! Considering I've never done an armature before, you can see the shape of Toothless is not spot on (to me anyway), so it's something I will have to refine! And I find I need to work quickly with this clay, as it does tend to dry quickly - even more so that I'm spreading it on the armature in a thin layer! I shall keep working at it, and attach the wings tomorrow.

If I practice, I'm sure I'll get this Toothless right! Oh, and a quick update:

Sorted almost all of my glitter and microbeads into the storage box! So happy! It looks all so pretty XD Why yes, glitter makes me happy . . .
