Turtle Melon Pan!

Aug 20, 2012 00:17

I was exasperated by a few events today, so to de-stress (working clay really is so relaxing!), I quickly made some melon pan. And not just any melon pan, although I have made them before - I made turtle melon pan!

Ohohoho, they have little feet! And tails!

I just need to dust their shells with green, and put on some more brown to make them look more bready, and eyes! So, not finished yet! Ah, I've also been considering getting this - it's a light box/stand thing to take pictures with, and it would be nice to have so that I can finally take decent photos! It's not terribly expensive, but I do have a long list of purchases I need to make. Like cabochons, some containers I can deco - geh, too tired to list it all off the top of my head now anyway. Oh, parting - and very random - photo:

My mum's home-made 'banh cuong' it's a rice flour roll, filled with pork mince, shredded mushroom, and onions and garlic, with some cucumber. This dish pictured above doesn't have all the accompaniements, but you get the idea. It's a really, really nice dish, and it does come with differnt fillings, like bbq pork, or prawns, so try it if you can :D And yes - that's my studying stuff underneath it, and my craft stuff very close by. Hmm . . . I fear I have now become one of those people who take pictures of the things I eat XD I will endeavour to curb it! Unless I'm talking about a restaurant - haha.
