Unsurprisingly I have been busy for the last few days, dealing with things that I have neglected during my mad productive rush to make stuff for Wai-con. Anyway, so far I have managed to get to the stage where I have painted the choc-chips on the mini cookies for the mini jar charms.
My worktable at the moment. Stuff, everywhere - an organised chaos only I understand XD
Here are the cookies! They only need faces, but I have yet to do them! I was going to tonight, but my work room was occupied and I wasn't able to work there (translation: My dad commandeered the tv room to watch his show, and I wanted to watch something else and work on my cookies - so I chose to watch tv over painting faces on cookies - lol?).
Anyway, onto the random part of my post! A friend of mine came back from holiday to New York, and brought me back a souvenir!
A New York snowglobe, and a teddy keychain! So adorable! I love snowglobes, and have been thinking I should get one from every country/place I visit or vacation in :D Along the lines of randomness, on a recent shopping trip to Urban Depot (terribly place for my wallet) in Leederville, I picked up a few things . . .
Cookie cutters! In the shape of ninjas! How is this not awesome?
A whiteboard (well, blueboard) - of which I am sure I will find a use for . . .
And really adorable mini stamps! Argh! So cute! And they have a perfectly good reason for being bought, since if I become a teacher - I need cute stamps! (bwahahaha). I also love going to asian grocery stores and finding interesting snacks and drinks to try:
Mochi! This time, with peach and strawberry jelly/jam thingy fillings in them!
Of course I have tried some, well, only the strawberry one so far. They're really really soft, there are 6 for each packet, and they taste ok. The outside is a bit too powdery for my liking (they put too much on to stop it from being sticky), but the filling is nice but a stronger flavour would have been better. A decent snack ^_^
Valentine's is coming up - hence these chocolates. I refuse to give Sian all of this, we will share them!
Lastly, a wierd/interesting snack. Crispy fried seaweed - you know the nori that is used to wrap sushi? Well, that is used and fried and made into this snack. It is strangely tasty and addictive - of course there is that seaweed flavour that you have to get used to at first, but it's tasty, and crunchy and . . . I had to stop myself from eating it since I didn't want to finish the whole bag in one go! That is it for now! Hopefully I will have more crafty stuff to share soon!
^_^
