2013 YEAR END REVIEW
What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
I got engaged?!?!?!
Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Sort of. OK, that's almost a total lie, I didn't really keep my 2013 resolution. But yes! I made one for this year to eat more vegetables because seriously. I'm surprised I don't have scurvy at this point.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not super close, but one of my old friends from high school. And I've held the kid. IT WAS PRETTY WEIRD.
Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.
What countries did you visit?
I went to Germany for a week, and spent a disappointing few hours in Canada.
What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
Dunno. More energy, probably. Menergy.
What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 10th - when Evan proposed. And 9/21, 9/28, 10/26, and 11/3 --- because we went to weddings ON ALL THOSE DAYS.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Going out into the field for my job!
What was your biggest failure?
I feel like there was a LOT of stuff I didn't get done.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Besides the typical stigmata, not really.
What was the best thing you bought?
Evan and I bought two new TVs and a Roku, all of which are AWESOME.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
Oh lord. Everyone who puts up with me on a daily basis.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Probably far too many people.
Where did most of your money go?
Rent and gas.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My Germany trip!
What song will always remind you of 2013?
Blurred Lines... mostly because of watching the video with everyone in my office and laughing hysterically.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier!
b) thinner or fatter? Hopefully a little thinner after Evan nearly killed himself getting the treadmill into our townhouse.
c) richer or poorer? Richer!
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Exercised just a little bit more.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Sat on the couch just a little bit less. (BUT ONLY A LITTLE)
Did you fall in love in 2013?
Already in love, so... no.
What was your favorite TV program?
THE WEST WING. But if you mean TV that actually aired in 2013, then Orphan Black. The Americans. The League.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Chances are likely.
What was the best book you read?
I loved Gone Girl and Brain On Fire.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
omg, I barely listen to music anymore.
What did you want and get?
New TVs, finally!
What did you want and not get?
Ten pounds to magically fall off my body.
What was your favorite film of this year?
Uhhh. idk.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned twenty-six and went to see Gravity with Evan and my coworker. Then Evan & I had a joint birthday dinner at a Japanese steakhouse, and it was tasty and full of shrimp sauce.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Seeing my cat more often.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
Jeans, shirts, cardigans, and Converse.
What kept you sane?
Evan, TV, my cat.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I was thinking about how I hardly ever swoon over actors anymore. That said, I spent the most time talking about Matt Bomer.
What political issue stirred you the most?
Ugh, politics. Probs healthcare.
Who did you miss?
My friendsss. No one lives here anymore!
Who was the best new person you met?
Dear god, I don't even remember a new person I met.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013:
PATIENCE, YOUNG GRASSHOPPER.
Quote a song that sums up your year:
MY MIND'S TELLIN' ME NOOOOOO. BUT MY BODY. MY BODY'S TELLIN' ME YEEEEEESSSSSSSSS.
I've decided this year's motto is going to be... 2014: WHY THE HELL NOT?
