WEEKEND!!

Alright, time to post about this weekend before I forget about it. Basically, this week absolutely ROCKED!! I found out that I had this weekend off on Wednesday after work. I was looking forward to having Tracee come along and have an awesome time up-north. But nope, by the time she finally called back, Thursday night at 10:30, she said she wasn’t going. How did that not really surprise me??
I had to work on Friday ‘til 9, so my parents were going to go up when mom got out of work around 5. Then I was going to drive up when I got out of work at 9. But at like 4:30 the manager there asked if one of the people in center section (that’s where I am) wanted to go home early. I was like, I’m trying to get up-north this weekend so if now one else wants in then hell yeah, I’ll go. So the idea was to drive home and meet dad before he left the house to come and pick up mom. For the most part, that worked. Before I had gone to work Friday dad had asked me if I had any friends around that water-skied and wanted to go up-north with us. I really couldn’t think of any. But on the drive home to meet dad I thought about it a little more. Heather. She is actually closer to our cabin than we are. So during the entire drive home we talked about what we had been up to and I asked her if she wanted to come along. She said that it sounded fun and that she would talk to her parents and see when she could leave. She ended up leaving that night, which was the best option anyways. My parents dropped me off in Waters to wait and 45 minutes later Heather got there. And off to the cabin we went.
Saturday was supposed to be high 70s with 30% chance of rain. It ended up raining on and off all morning ‘til like 3. But we weren’t doing much anyways. We had a friend’s open house to go to and I showed Heather a bit around Bellaire. But by 4:30 the rain was gone and the day was looking really nice. We were on the lake by 5 and it was amazing. Smooth water and no one out there. I wakeborded, dad skied, Kate skied, and Heather tried to ski for the first time. She did alright but almost drank the lake through her nose on the last try. Then I skied back across the lake and ended up whacking my foot on the skis right at the end. It felt like I broke my toes, but I didn’t. We had pizza for dinner and me and Heather went to see Episode III, Revenge of the Sith for the second time each.
Sunday looked good from the start. The forecast said heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon, but the radar showed no immediate threat so to da lake we went again. It was a perfect day. Perfect Day!! Me and Kate doubled (both of us skiing at the same time). Dad skied, I wakeboarded and Heather gave skiing another chance. This time was better. Each try was better and better. I think it was her 6th or 7th try that she declared her last. And that was the one. Up she went and she stayed up and skied for a ways. Not a long way, but it was long enough to count as skiing. Then I took my last wakeboard runs and totally kicked ass. I was doing something off of every wake hit. Heel-side and Toe-side 180’s along with an assortment of grabs and such. It was a good set. Then we put the boat away and headed out. At Waters, Heather went north and we came back down here.
I’m sore like I have never been before. I’m sunburned all over. Mostly my shoulders, but my chest, arms and face too. Did I mention that I’m sore?? I can hardly move, but it was worth it. What an awesome weekend!!

I took cutie for a ride in my death cab
