Vampire Diaries...
So I'm currently obsessed with Vampire Diaries.
I know it's a big hit for some years now in America but I just recently started watching it and I must say...
It's really, really good.
I love both Stefan and Damon and their love for Helena.
They are such complex characters, their emotions are so strong and difficult to grasp and understand because they are so much older than the rest, they have experience so much more than your average human and the way they feel is different than us.
With old age comes wisdom supposedly. So it's easy to assume they had their fair share of heartbreak and bad decisions.
And Helena...
Well here's a female character who is in love with an Immortal and actually manages to maintain her own opinions, her own personality and make her own decisions! *coughBellacough*
She's a strong, confident (not always but she's still a teenager after all!), compassionate and loyal individual who knows what she wants, and realises she can't make life altering decisions at the innocent age of 17!
As she says in the second season, she don't want to be a vampire because she wants to grow up and live her life, she wants to have the chance to decide if she wishes to have a family and kids some day.
Of course marriage and kids isn't something a teenager thinks about, but that's only because they know they have time to grow up and mature. It's not something to think about at 17. Or even 20 to be honest! But when the choice is taken from them, then everyone realises what they lost.
So no, I don't think Vampire Diaries should be compared to the likes of Twilight.
Vampire Diaries has an actual plot and its characters depth. And unlike Twilight, the main trio can actually be considered as role models for youngsters.
I'm currently watching season 3 and ponder if I should write a story for that fandom. Or at least a crossover.
I prefer Stefan to be honest but Damon is growing on me since I watched the finale of season 2.
Ah!
I have so many projects going on currently and I can't afford to star anothe story now!
To end this, Vampire Diaries is one of the very few series that manages to keep me interest and my eyes glued to my screen every time a new episode is aired!
That's why I dowloaded the whole series!
