Boo Yeah
I'm excited. The Waterville Opera House just called and told me I was cast as Isaac's wife in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This is really cool. I think this is going to be a big production with lots of people and will be lots of fun. :)
I didn't get the part in Steal Magnolias. However, I have no clue who did because no one at rehearsal last night for Do Not Disturb had heard either and I was sure at least one of them was cast. Well, whatever, I guess the director told the other directors that he was having a really hard time casting b/c he could cast it 3 different ways and it would be equally as good any way. I'm a little disappointed but I'm going to have plenty on my plate.
Thirdly, I had my first rehearsal last night for Do Not Disturb so now I know my roles. I was cast in 2 of the 5 miniplays (One Acts). These plays are slightly unusual. They are sex comedies and they all take place in the same hotel. One of the parts I'm really excited about and it should be really funny. I play this Maid of Honor who's sleeping with the groom and then people keep coming in. However, my other part, I'm not as comfortable with. I play this girl who's picked up in a bar by this guy and they both are totally all over each other and basically want to have sex. They are also interupted, but that's a different story. So, according to the script I have to at least kiss this person on many occasions and straddle him at one occasion. Mind you, this is someone I don't know at all. Also, some of the lines are sooooo cheesy. I actually have to say "And I want you" as one of my lines. Yeah, so I'm really happy that I got cast as some part. And I guess it could be worse, I didn't get in the porn play....and I didn't get the one where they talk about impotence forever. However, I feel kind of bad for Chris. I also feel kind of like this isn't going to be appropriate for some audiences, like my grandmother, or my little brother, etc. which kind of sucks because I wanted people like that to be able to come. I'm really happy to have gotten into Joseph because that'll be appropriate for everyone. I suppose I can just invite my dirty minded friends to Do Not Disturb. :D
