We saw Rifftrax live tonight from one of our local theaters! They were doing Plan 9 from Outer Space, and it was hilarious. Honestly seeing Cinematic Titanic live was probably a little cooler, but then we were actually at the venue with them instead of watching it on a movie screen. But it was awesome regardless.
Sooooo, I keep meaning to ask this- who all is going to DragonCon this year? Sound off here, I would love to see some of you guys there. I've signed up for a bunch of gaming this year, but there's really only one panel I want to see so far so I'm hoping to have time to hang with people.
Michael is running two games this year, and I've been helping plan and playtest. There's an A-Team game and a steampunk Ghostbusters game. Here are the blurbs:
The A-Team: Viva Lost Wages
In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.
Things are about to get hot on the Vegas strip as the A-Team is hired by a down-on-his-luck pal who is being pushed around by the Mob. Viva Lost Wages is an 80s-style adventure using a slightly modified version of the Spirit of the Century / Fate 3.0 rules set in the world of the TV show 'The A-Team'. Characters will be pregenerated and no experience is required to play. Get on the jazz and get ready for a retro good time. Don't you love it when a plan comes together?
Ghostbusters 1884: The Case of the Soapstone Statue
One hundred years before Gozer threatened the Big Apple with destruction, a shadow falls across London. In a race against time, the members of an elite social club are faced with unraveling a series of strange occurances before it's too late.
This is a steampunk adventure in a London that could have existed in the universe of the Ghostbusters movie series. The game uses Spirit of the Century / Fate 3.0. Characters will be pregenerated. All players need is a sense of adventure. When an Antediluvian Evil from Beyond Time and Space threatens, who shalt thou summon?
They are going to be awesome. I am of course not biased at all. ;) If you go to http://gaming.dragoncon.org and search for events under Spirit of the Century, you'll find them. I'm even tentatively planning a little unofficial GMing myself this year...but more about that later.
I have been mainlining Burn Notice this week. God, I love that show to itty bitty bits. Especially Fiona. And Sam. <3
