(no subject)
Oh god. So much baking. So much cleaning. I think my hands are going to pop off my wrists.
The chocolate cupcakes came out perfectly. I just pulled the first set of vanilla chai out of the oven, and THEY DIDN'T RISE. :( Or fell in the middle. OR SOMETHING, I DON'T KNOW. They were perfect last week! GAH! The batter looked exactly the same, I don't understand what the hell went wrong. The only things that happened differently were that the baking powder got a little wet when I was mixing it in, and right after I mixed the dry stuff with the butter and egg and sugar, I had to stop and wait for a bit before I mixed in the milk, because the chai had to steep in it and I'd forgotten to do that ahead of time. But it came out really smooth in the end...I don't know. I also overfilled the cups, so that didn't help, so the second set aren't as full. I don't know if they'll rise, though. I hope so.
This is frustrating. They were perfect before. If the batch in the oven sucks too, I might just toss it all and start over. After I sleep for a few hours. FUCK.
