Budding Sakura in the Rain
I had to traverse a puddle of DOOM to get to this tree (as far as I know, the first cherry blossom tree to bloom in Sakawa) in the pouring rain and when I got there, I couldn't get the buds in the foreground to focus correctly! If you look at the bigger picture, you'll notice that the bud partially hidden behind the cluster of flowers on the right is what is completely in focus and not the flowers directly in the foreground. Guh. I must've taken a hundred pictures of that thing while water slid off my umbrella and down my back and still this was the best shot I got.
I tried reading up on tips and tricks to use with point-and-shoot-cameras, but once they start talking about "refracting" and "macros" my eyes start glazing over. Yeah, I know I suck.
I had a good day. I took the day off and went to Kochi's only mall for some stuff (a lot less than I ended up buying, of course) with the ever-wonderful
nighstar. I restocked my supply of whole wheat crackers and relish and bought some new perfume. I also picked up the most darling little teddy bear sewing kit. I wanna make my own bear! And if 10-year-old Sakura from Card Captor Sakura can do it, so can I! I feel like I even have an advantage what with me being real and all.
I continue to be so freaking excited for GENKI retreat on Sunday. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. It sucks I can't be there on Saturday.
Why am I not going on Saturday? Because I have graduation at Kuroiwa tomorrow... Man, I'm sad right now just thinking about it. I hope I can hold myself together at the ceremony. Can't let down my cool, emotionless foreigner exterior...
Oh, who am I kidding? I'm a baby and everyone knows it!
Also, I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for reasons I can't divulge right now. Maybe in a few months. My dearest sister knows why, BUT NO ONE ELSE DOES. Feel special, Rach!
