Chapter Two
You Are Insane
"Stay away from my sister!"
"Sokka, quit being so stupid! Stop it!"
"No, he was- urgh, I don't even want to think about it!"
"Watching you and Suki kiss isn't that pleasant, either! So don't be complaining!"
The fighting continued all through the day and into the night. It would surely go on into the morning, but, as usual, Katara was winning. She usually won because she was the smartest of the two and also didn't have a thick skull like Sokka did. Toph, Aang, the Earth King, Momo, Appa, and Basco, the Earth King's pet bear, all watched in amusement as the siblings went at each other again, Katara having water flowing around her because she was so angry at him. Sokka, on the other hand, who wasn't a bender at all, had his boomerang out and was waving it all over the place, and pointing it at Aang as well.
"Why don't you just let Katara be with me? I mean, it wouldn't hurt, would it?" Aang asked, shrugging his shoulders.
"Yes!
"Absolutely not!"
Katara and Sokka raised fists at one another. It was getting more and more violent as the day went on. Finally, Sokka decided it was best to allow Katara to be with Aang, as long as no kissing was involved. Katara objected to this, and the fighting began all over again. She used Suki, Yue, and several other girls Sokka had met as an example to why she should be allowed to kiss Aang. He could kiss whomever he wanted, she could kiss Aang. Toph gave a yawn around the time the sun was setting and blurted out what was for dinner.
"I haven't gotten anything because this idiot here has kept me fighting all day!" Katara roared out.
"I'm the idiot? What are you talking about?"
"C'mon, Toph. We'll go find some nuts and fruit," Aang took Toph's wrist and pulled her along behind him. The two chatted away as they did so.
The only person left now was the Earth King, along with his pet bear, Momo, and Appa. Things between Katara and Sokka weren't going to lighten up anytime soon, so he had to butt in as the responsible adult. He stood up, knowing he would regret this later, and stood between both of them, holding out a hand to each one.
"This isn't solving anything, if you haven't realized," he said. "Now, Katara, you can kiss Aang all you want, just not around your brother, and Sokka, let them be together, for Earth Spirit's sake!"
Sokka nodded at the solution. Katara punched her fist in the air and called out 'yes!'. She had won, yet again. Of course, Sokka had won as well, but she was more victorious. Katara ran off into the woods after Aang and Toph, shouting their names as she went. Sokka was left with the Earth King, who had sat down again and patted his pet bear.
"I could have found a better solution," Sokka mumbled.
"You are an idiot, aren't you?"
"What? No, of course I'm not! I mean, yeah, I get into those jams that make people think I am an idiot, but-"
"You are an idiot."
