1. the eucharist.. body and blood... why isnt it real bread... it was fresh bread at the last supper not factor produced waffers... so why is the host that round disk it is real bread. it's unleavened bread. i'm not sure why it's round, i'm sure there is some meaning. but i mean could you really expect a church to bake all that bread and cut it up before mass?
2. you cant take the eucorist inless you are pure enough to recieve him... but we sin houndreds of times a day and even if you have conffession 10 mins before you problem have sinned 3 times during mass.. so why are we pure enough to receive Jesus himself... during the mass when the priest tells us to bring our sins before Jesus all of our venial sins are forgiven, it is only the mortal sins that you have to confess before mass. so as long as you haven't done anything of grave matter, you're ok.
3. ok so if its ok to be sinners yet have the real body and blood of jesus in us then why is Mary blessed.... why would Mary have to be sinless.... never comitting a sin in her life if you dont have to be sinless to recieve him in us... wouldnt that mean that Mary didnt have to be sinless to be ihave Jesus in her either... Mary was free of sin because she had to carry the baby Jesus. If you were God would you have a woman full of sin to deliver your child? we all get to share in Jesus because he died on the cross to save us from our sins. Jesus wasn't prude, he dined with sinners and he called all of us to feast with him. his disciples weren't sin-free either and they were right there for the last supper. Mary was sinless because she had to be the vessel to bring Jesus forth into the world.
2 i dont belive in mortal sins and vinial sins and i think that all sins are equal and just because its not clearly stated its still a sin so with that we wouldnt be pure enough to recive him
3. so again if we have sin and can still recieve him then why would mary have to be sinless to have him
but it's not contradicting at all. still, it's all part of being catholic. and i don't feel like arguing. it's hard to believe if you don't understand, and visa-versa.
heidi - mortal sins and venial sins are all part of the catholic faith, the same faith that believes in the consecration of the host and receiving of jesus in the eucharist. i'm just explaining what my faith teaches me and what the bible says. mary had to be a pure vessel to bring jesus into the world. bearing the child of God and receiving communion don't exactly have the same callibur. jesus called us all to share in his feast, but God only called on mary to bear jesus. you can take it or leave it but that's catholicism and that's what i believe.
no where in the bible does it say that mary is blessed... it says shes a virgin and shes with out the sin of aving premarital sex but other then that nothing... but yeah agian im not arguing at all and i see where you are coming from i just dont understand and perhaps i will never understand buts its cool i appratiate our help
there's much more to mary than that. she's mentioned much more in the bible. the gospel, revelation, etc. everyone is blessed, wouldn't that include mary? (again that may be a "catholic thing" if you will). but it says she is pure and without original sin, wouldn't that be considered blessed?
you know cause you grew up with it all your life love mary shes our mother.... but being the kid thrown in the pool its so confusing and it just doenst make sense to me at all and i have tried to open up to it i really have and i just dont get it... nothings grabing me with this makes sense so i dont know if i ever will find it im to the point of giving up really so who knows...
we i see without original sin i think of she is without the sin of making babies with out marrage... i dont think of never sinning... i think of the verse ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God... i dont know im going to bed not trying to argue night
im not trying to argue but this isnt a catholic thing or a christian thing or a islam thing or a muslim thing. sometimes there are anomolies in religion that have no clear explanation and sometimes can clash against other parts of given set of ideas. and sometimes you ahve to figure them out for yourself or interpret them how you feel. like wiht megan she believes mary was blessed because she sees everyone blessed and no reason otherwise that mary would be exempt. but you may htink she isnt because it doesnt tell you explicitly.
