(no subject)
so far (since slightly less than two years ago) my dell laptop has received the following under warranty:
5 power adapters
1 cd drive
2 lcd screens
1 new motherboard
1 new video card
1 new keyboard
new memory
new touchpad and all the cover that surrounds keyboard
and currently, with my under-a-week-old keyboard, my enter key keeps coming loose.
as much fun as it is basically rebuilding a new laptop for free, it is pretty inconvient. the new service man in my area is quite frightening and alienates any and all DHL employees (by yelling at them on the phone while in my house)who are necessary sometimes for bringing parts/laptop, and was responsible for making my computer totally unfunctionable for almost two weeks.
been cooking alot today... vegetarian blck bean and corn chili, jamacian jerk tofu, drinking howling monkey coffee. it's been awhile since i had the day off and had time to stay home and do whatever.
we have lots of flowers growing up around our house this year, and with it's new paint that we did last summer. we also planted a garden for the first time, and it is doing pretty well. the zucchini plants have tons of big blossoms, and all the herbs are big and bushy.
i haven't been writing as much lately, but have been painting a little more. i feel like sometimes i approach painting things in the same ways, and have to encourage myself to do it differently, explore trying things in a different way.
have been getting to see a decent amount of movies too. the new die hard, knocked up, oceans 13, waitress... i love waitress, adn keri russell.:) and then i was inspired to make some strawberry rhubarb pie. always feels like an accomplishment when i can produce a pie that looks and tastes like a good pie. i like taking basic things like flour and sugar and being able to make something with it.
my typing has gotten alot faster. i write alot of emails at work, like being able to fly over the keys. i like editing and getting to listen to new music (like "wild hope", mandy moore's album) and coming home with inkstained fingers. i like proofing people's work, picking out what needs fixing, finding that i have more knowledge to share. am applying for the open senior position. on one hand, i feel like it would be a bad choice to pick me, since i haven't even worked there a year yet, but maybe i can get promoted another grade at least, and get more experience.
today has been raining, it feels like the first summer rain.
