Random thoughts~

Since Eyeshield 21 and Majin Tantei Neuro ended, I haven't been following much manga (just the usually OP, Naruto, KHR, etc), so recently I started reading the other new series in JUMP and found few I like (too bad they all still short >_<)

Bakuman
I stated reading this because it was by the Death Note authors, and I have to say I'm absolutely hooked! I like how it's not another battle manga (though I do love those), and the plot is actually very interesting. Even though it's pretty much about real life, with no battles, no fantasy, etc (the typical shounen manga), what captures me is the story. The story revolves around two teenagers who aims to be the greatest mangaka. I guess I like it because it made me understand more of the manga industry (and really how tough the life of a mangaka can be, honestly, after reading this, I realise mangaka is really not a ... typical career). One of my favourite lines is when they mention "Mangaka is just a gambler", I don't know why, but that just really touched me.

Just reading this makes me want to cheer "Ashirogi" and Trap to do well XD It also makes me think about cutting of manga (and the harsh reality). I wish I live in Japan and can send in those questionnaires to support my favourite mangas ^^ Anyway, if anyone want to read about something different, this is definitely a great manga to try!

Kuroko no Basket
Still pretty new, just 33 chapters out, but so far, I think it's pretty good. It's a basketball manga, and even though this can never beat Slam Dunk (the god of Basketball manga in my mind), it's still quite unique. The moves and the play aren't that..creative, but what I like is the main character. Usually, sports manga have the main character as a newbie who tries everything to be the best (basically, he's in the spotlight), but Kuroko is different. He's a shadow and he's just different to the stereotypical sports manga protagonist. I love his expressionless face, and the fact that he's "invisible". Of course I still think there's a lot of improvements required for this manga (the "generation of miracles" was a bit disappointing, not as strong as I expected and some of the moves aren't that creative), but I just realllllllllly love Kuroko. Heck, he's not even hot (he doesn't stand out), he can't shot, have bad stamina, but he's just...interesting! I guess it's just very different to the last sports manga I just finish (Eyeshield 21), so right now, I'm anticipating how this manga will go. Definitely looking forward to it XD

Akaboshi - Ibun Suikoden
Another manga that's quite recent, just 14 chapters (finished it in like half an hour -.-), but I was curious about it since it was about the Chinese history (though of course, it pretty much screw up the whole history thing >.>) with the 108 heroes. Ignoring the fact that the manga needs some serious history lesson, so far, I really like it. The humour is great (I actually laughed...lol), and even though so far, the protagonist hasn't really... hit me or made me like him yet, this manga definitely have potential to be great. One fact that I found problematic is the number of characters, since they have to gather 108 heroes, there's quite a lot of characters to remember, and god, I'm absolutely horrible with names.... The fighting scenes could use some more work, but so far the story has been great, and I like how there's strong female fighters too XD Oh yes, and there's this cute little tiger as well ^^ I probably wait till it get to 50 or something chapters first before I start again, since I hate waiting week by week. Anyone who enjoys a battle manga, this is definitely one for you! (and it has some...history too!)

And three I'm NOT that interested in, but it have the potential to be good, I'm just still waiting for the good bits..

Kagijin
A futuristic manga, with the government corrupted and the protagonist trying to save the world (yes, the typical plot). There's not much I can say for this manga, there's only 6 chapters... Just one manga I will look out for in the future to see if it would be good. The idea of Kajigin is unique, but so far, I can't say I like or dislike the manga.... Too short for me to decide yet.

Pysren
I was actually quite addicted to this story at the beginning, I really like the idea of those cards and sending people into another world to complete missions in order to finish the game. But the recent chapters.... I don't know, maybe I just don't really like the direction it's taking, I've lost interest in this manga. Also, the main character isn't very unique, he's just the typical shounen protagonist, so it's not that interesting. I'm putting it off for a while...maybe I will get interested again....

Nurarihyon no Mago
I started this manga quite a while ago, but never got to finish it, which is strange, cause I actually thought the plot was good. Yet, I just couldn't finish it. I can't pinpoint exactly what I dislike about the manga (maybe it's the fact that the main character changes his looks, etc), but there's just something that makes me can't keep reading.... I'm trying to get over it since I have heard it's a good manga *sigh* I see if I can succeed, lol

Really, so many new mangas, but gah, I hate waiting week by week T_______________T It's such a pain!!!!
