Honestly, I am constantly shocked by the things people do. When it comes down to it, I don't believe that all people are terrible or sick, because I haven't had much of a chance to see that lately. I know that people can make bad decisions, we all do. There is so much good in this world that is overlooked. It's the simple stuff.

Today at around 10, the doorbell rang upstairs. I was laying in my bed because I'm a slug. After a few minutes went by, my mom came downstairs and told me to guess who was at the door. I had been hoping that it was someone delivering more packages that held the rest of Garrett's (york) birthday presents, so I guessed that. Then she told me that Gerrit Van Ommering had just stopped by to drop off a gift. This was so kind of him on a few different levels.

1. Gerrit and I have barely spoken since sophomore year. Every now and again we'd say hi to each other in passing, but we haven't really talked for a long time. At graduation when Allison and I were saying bye to him, she and I both started bawling. I invited him to my graduation party, but he said he probably wouldn't be able to make it.

2. I live far away from school and anywhere in east county. Now, I'm not exactly sure that I know where Gerrit lives, but it's definitely not close. He came by to drop off a gift. He wasn't even here more than 2 minutes.

This whole thing just made me feel really good. People who go out of their way to just be nice and show others that they care. Dannnnnnng.
