The grind we call "living" ~

So I notice the tiny tracker on my login screen says I haven't updated in five weeks. It's not that nothing exciting has happened in my life, but honestly . . . well . . . nothing exciting has happened in my life. Nothing worth sharing, anyhow. The great thing about having all your friends and/or loved ones reading your LJ is that you can share your innermost thoughts with them and garner their reactions. The bad thing about having all your friends and/or loved ones reading your LJ is that they can read your innermost thoughts, and sometimes those aren't worth reading. Not if you want to keep your friends and/or loved ones. :D

So what's been shaking in Scorpio's life recently, eh? Well, there's the annoying problem of a bug infestation where I live. Normally, it's Japanese Beetles by the millions. Last summer it was ants. Now it's wood roaches. The nasty little blighters are worse than cockroaches, because wood roaches not only expand everywhere, but they're also way more tolerant to the normal things that wipe out their cousins. Nasty.

My taxes went ass-up this year -- again -- so I'm financially hurting -- again -- and praying I get a second job soon. I interviewed for a good State job about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything yet. I took tests for about 7 others as well, but it'll be another month before I hear back on those. Meanwhile, I bravely fend off the wolves at my door.

I've managed to start my annual slide into Bronchial Respiratory Infection, the thankless result of having damn near scarred my lungs from Pneumonia about 13 years ago. I get it every year, like clockwork, around March or so and, with luck, it goes away by April. It drains me and I don't feel like doing anything other than sleeping and taking my medicine. The "coughing, sneezing runny nose so I can sleep" medicine helps a little, and I hope I can fend it off this year.

On top of that, March is the month of basketball tourneys in this state and the hotel goes nuts with all different schools checking in and out, off and on, and it's a stressful and insane time of the year. A great time to be sick, right!?

Well, that's about it. My novel is still in my agent's hands. I'm looking for a new agent. The Princess and I went to see Caroline and loved it. My computer is still freaking slow and won't allow me to play my favorite MMORPG, Warhammer Online. I still love everybody! Caio!!
