Hey all I am new to this LJ community, joined a few weeks ago but only posting now...
I have been a voyeur for as long as I can remember... always preferred watching peoples lives and enjoying their experiences from the safety of my own shell than ever doing anything for myself. (Sad, I know...)
I have always felt a little ‘outside of the cube’ so to speak... as if I am some kind of corporeal being that is unable to interact with life but can view and analyze it from far away.
Anyway... I thought I would post one of my many voyeuristic experiences...
I was on a Virgin train the other night, on my way home from work with my fiancé... I was staring out of the window contemplating things when a ladies mobile phone went off.
I was quickly snapped out of my thoughts as a man behind me said something about a ‘banana sandwich’ (I literally only caught that one phrase out of his entire sentence).
Anywho, I started listening to this lady on her mobile phone... she was talking about how she had missed the last train and as such was running later.
I recall her getting really emotional about the situation, her tone changed with the person on the other line and she kept saying things like;
“Well it’s not my fault I was late, how do you expect me to get there then if I am on this train??”
The entire thing was rather vague because I am not sure what she was late for, possibly a dinner somewhere? I can’t remember what gave me that impression...
She got off at the same stop I did and she seemed to dart off... as I would if I were running late too!
It’s fascinating having a snippet of somebody else’s life...
