This man came into the store today (have i posted yet to say I have a part time job at the Gap? I can't remember) and told me & my co-worker that he 'has a problem with the name of the store' because it was started by 2 gay men in Montreal and means Gay And Proud. He then went on to say how disgusting that is and some other stuff, told me and co- ( Read more... )

...the hell?

You know, it's easy to forget that people like that actually exist. "Hope you're not gay!"??? ...I just... WHAT??

When I was with Evan, we went to the mall one weekend (the scary-assed mall where Paul Bernardo used to scope out his victims, actually; I never quite got over that) because he said I should "make him over". He needed new clothes anyway & said I should choose them so I'd find him "even hotter than usual". (Ha! It was a lot of fun, I must admit. He was VERY fine.) First place I took him was to the GAP, and I decked him out in all sorts of preppy stuff & drooled over him a lot, and he actually mentioned the "gay and proud" thing at one point. I said I'd never known if that was true or just an urban myth, and he shrugged and said, "If it helps any guys get lucky by looking better, who cares??"

The sales staff must've wondered why we were laughing so hard while picking out shirts. But, really...I don't get people who could SERIOUSLY say what that guy said to you and your coworker. That just blows my mind. I've said it a million times: love is hard enough to come by in this world. How can people have a problem with whatever form it comes in?? Disgusting.

Yeah, I remember hearing that back in the 90's too...I have no idea if it's true or not, had completely forgotten about it until yesterday. This was the first time I've had a face to face interaction with someone like that....and he had this awful smile on his face the whole time he was talking. It just makes me ill!!!!!
