Character Survey Of Doom - Black Cat 'Verse

In short - probably the nicest Victor of the lot. He's involved in an intense and romantic relationship with Natalie Bruenner (jurisimmortalis), an Immortal from the 'Highlander' fandom.

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

Victor is 6'6" and weighs 275lbs; he's sturdily-built and well-muscled, thanks to a lifetime spent fighting. He doesn't possess super-strength, but he is naturally strong, having spent his entire life doing manual work and making a living through combat.

2. How old is he?

178. If we're saying Black Cat 'Verse is set during the present year of 2010, and if Victor was about 13 when he had to leave the Howlett estate with James in 1845, then he'd be around that old now.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?

He's very confident and thinks of himself as the Alpha Male, so he struts around giving off an air of arrogance, which is helped by the fact he has recently become involved in a relationship with Nat Bruenner (jurisimmortalis). He thinks a lot of himself because of his regeneration, too, so he literally does stroll around thinking he's nigh-on indestructible. Have you ever seen a Ginger Tom walking around like it owns the neighbourhood with its tail held high? Yeah, like that.

When he's on the hunt, whether it be for humans, mutants or wild animals, he tends to skulk, slink and stalk his way through the shadows instead of walking like a normal person. At rest, he finds it comfortable to crouch rather than sit (as he does in 'Origins' when he's watching Logan and Stryker speak on Three Mile Island.) I think this is partly because it's far easier to spring to your feet from this position, kind of like a cat pouncing.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

Thanks to his healing ability, he doesn't ever get ill or contract any diseases, and wounds heal too soon after they've been made for him to get any scars. As with Logan, he was sick when he was younger, before his mutations kicked in, but since then he's never been unwell.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

Although he has a rather bulky, sturdy frame, he is capable of very fluid movement, usually in combat, although I wouldn't call it graceful. He has a very good sense of balance, due to his feral, cat-like senses, and he usually carries himself with a sense of purpose, because he is nearly always planning something. Chances are if you see him walking somewhere, he's got a reason for heading in that direction.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

Physically, Victor has the body of a healthy forty-year-old man. He isn't covered in rippling muscles and he doesn't boast a tanned six-pack, but he doesn't have a beer gut or lots of excess flab. He knows that he doesn't have a body like, say, Wade Wilson, but in all honesty, this doesn't bother him at all - he has his regeneration, and he's more than capable of defending himself in a fight, and that matters far more to him than looking like some kind of pin-up. In fact, he looks down on men who spend so long pampering themselves and taking care of their looks as he sees them as weak-minded pussies who can't maintain a decent body.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

Despite receiving countless wounds during his lifetime, he doesn't possess any scars due to his healing ability. His complexion is probably rather tanned now having spent so long in the sun; even when he was back in America, he'd look somewhat weathered from having done a lot of menial outdoor work, not to mention military service. His healing factor would prevent severe sunburn, though.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

It's short dark hair, probably cut that way because if you get into as many fights as he does, you don't want anyone to grab at your hair. I'd like to think that no matter how much he cuts and shaves his facial hair, it just grows back that way as part of his regeneration.

9. What color are his eyes?

Blue. He has a very intense gaze.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

Do fangs and claws count? Why, yes, I think they do. He possesses retractable claws which can cut through steel as well as give him purchase on materials such as stone and concrete, enabling him to dig them into and climb sheer, vertical surfaces. Where his human canines would be, he has vicious animal-like fangs which are easily sharp enough to tear through flesh.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

His shoulders are the first to tense up, his claws instinctively unsheathe themselves as he adopts a combat stance, and he draws back his lips to reveal his fangs. It's the human mutant equivalent of a cat raising its hackles and hissing.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

He's never been one to care that much about his appearance, and having lived most of his life in the military, he just tended to wear whatever uniform was given to him at that time. When he hasn't been in military service, his clothes have consisted of hard-wearing work shirts and trousers; he'll always favour comfort and practicality over fashion and looking good.

For the moment, he wears plain black trousers and boots, along with several buttoned-up black shirts and a long black coat. As well as keeping him warm, he is well aware of the psychological effect of wearing all-black, and he takes great pride on appearing like a looming shadow out of the darkness. He doesn't ever change his clothes - which also means they never get washed. They're somewhat faded, torn and stained.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

Although his many layers may initially make him seem bulky, he appears able to move in them with some fluidity. Since he doesn't bathe much - he only really undresses for full sex - they're almost like a second skin to him.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

Nope. Same clothes all the time. He doesn't see the point in deliberately dressing up for an occasion; it's a waste of time to him. Besides, what he does in his leisure time is so similar to what he does for his work that there isn't much point in changing outfits.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Commando. He's not the type to care much for looking good in any kind of underwear, and it makes the kinds of things he does a lot easier; okay, I'll be crude here. He's a very sexually-driven character, and whether it's sex with a willing partner or an unwilling victim, it's a lot easier to just be able to whip it out of those trousers whenever he wants to (without taking them off) and not have to bother with underwear getting in the way. Also much easier for getting dressed and undressed in a hurry.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

Victor has a deep, resonant voice that seems to reverberate throughout his chest; it's almost a growl sometimes, even when he talks normally.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

He speaks with a measured rhythm; his words are neither rushed nor slowed to a drawl. He tends to talk confidently and with conviction, only losing the control in his voice when he loses his temper, in which case he raises his voice and yells as loudly as he can, venting his frustration in his words. (Example: "GIVE ME THE ADAMANTIUM!")

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

As his mind is very much feral, he often punctuates his speech with growls, snarls and hisses to show his moods, emphasising the point by baring his fangs if he needs to. He also purrs when he's pleased or content.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

His mother tongue is English, although he probably has a smattering of French too, having grown up in what was to become the Northern Territories of Canada. (Correct me if French wasn't spoken there between 1832-1850 plz, kthnxbai.)

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

Not particularly, although he does sometimes revert to a more relaxed, casual way of speaking when he's with Logan, subconsciously switching to the kind of twang they used when they were younger. Pronunciation can change with time, so when he talks with Logan there's probably a noticeable difference in his accent.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

His words seem to come naturally to him; he can't resist a snarky comment or a series of quickfire insults, and his mind works fast when it comes to witty comebacks and put-downs.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

He is usually very articulate, able to find the right words for most situations and using words as another way to get the better of people, although when he loses his temper he becomes a lot more feral and sometimes even loses the ability to speak altogether, expressing himself through snarls, growls and body language alone.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

Despite what many people may think, Victor isn't anybody's fool. His animalistic, feral appearance and manner can trick others into thinking that his mind is also bestial, and that he doesn't possess any intelligence other than of base instinct - but although his smarts are mainly derived from his animal intelligence, he is also fairly literate and clever, and capable of thinking his way out of a situation.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

He is capable of making decisions on the spur of the moment if he needs to, usually based on his feelings and instincts. Case in point - near the end of 'Origins', after Stryker can't give him what he wants he immediately switches loyalties and goes to fight at Logan's side instead.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

As hinted at above, his thought processes are based mostly on feelings and instincts, whatever he wants at the time; essentially he's a selfish hedonist, so his first course of action will usually be whatever makes him feel good at the time, and he doesn't care whether it will adversely affect anyone else.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

Nearly all of Victor's knowledge is entirely self-taught. As a child, he learned to read from the Bible (I think this would have been fairly common for children at that time across the whole of North America) and from whatever books he happened to get a hold of when he visited James as a child. Victor's father didn't encourage any kind of learning in the house shack where he grew up.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Victor knows a lot about killing things. He's an expert in maiming, torturing and killing people in a variety of ways, not only with his teeth and claws but also with various weaponry including guns, knives and explosives. One-hundred-plus years of military service have left him an expert in this field, and he is always keen to learn more about weaponry, which is why his preferred reading includes military survival manuals and books about tactics and weaponry. He is also adept at surviving in the wild and living rough; he had to learn fast when he was young, and his enhanced senses, teeth and claws are definitely a help.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

A bit of both. He can seem like an extrovert in that he likes to make a show of things and be noticed at times when he feels he needs to make a statement, but he can also fade into the background and go un-noticed when he wants to gather information and be more subtle.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

As long as he is in control, Victor can seem relaxed and casual in his attitude, although even then he is always mentally on-guard against any attack. He generally acts smug and self-assured as he is very confident in his abilities, but if anyone annoys him, his temperament can change in a moment and he can fly into a feral rage within seconds. He can be moody and sullen; when this is the case, he tends to lash out at anyone who crosses his path, taking out his frustrations on whoever happens to be around.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

Whenever somebody new appears, Victor feels the need to establish his dominance over them as the Alpha Male, no matter what the situation. If the newcomer is a male he feels the need to exert his superiority, and if it's a female he likes to intimidate them and let them know that he could take them if he really wanted to.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

Depends on the situation. In the case of getting what he wants, he'll go right ahead and be as devious and demanding as he needs to be to get his way, such as if he's after revenge. Other times, when he wants to get the measure of someone he hasn't met before, he'll try and hold back and watch from a distance so he can learn about them before approaching them.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?

Fight. He is driven by combat and conflict, taking great pleasure in fighting, but even he knows when to call it a day and retreat at times.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

Victor is a master of schadenfreude - taking pleasure in the misfortune of others. He has a dark and twisted sense of humour, and enjoys belittling and humiliating those whom he doesn't like, such as poor, long-suffering Fred Dukes and Wade Wilson. He prefers verbal puns and sarcasm to slapstick jokes and bathroom humour, and likes nothing better than coming up with original insults and putting others in awkward situations; he just loves to shock and offend. (Case in point - during 'Origins', in the bar scene with Logan. Logan thinks Kayla is dead, and what does Victor do? Crack a joke and laugh at him. LOL1111!!!111eleventy-one!!!111)

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

I'm no psychologist, but I'd say he could easily be certified as a psychopath; Wikipedia's criteria for this include being cunning and manipulative, having a lack of remorse or guilt, a lack of empathy for others, a need for stimulation, poor behavioural control and promiscuous sexual relationships. And how does he deal with this? Are you kidding? He loves being the way he is. He's proud of the way he is, and takes pleasure in knowing that it disgusts others.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?

His defining moments are:

- having his teeth and claws pulled out by his father;
- watching James Howlett kill their father;
- murdering Sarah, his first kill;
- joining the Union army during the American Civil War, wearing a uniform and being part of an organised killing squad for the first time;
- being sentenced to death after attempted rape and decapitating a senior officer in Vietnam, and more importantly, Logan standing beside him through it.
- Logan leaving him during the Team X program

14. What does he fear?

Victor's biggest fear is losing Nat, either through her being killed, or if she decided to leave of her own volition. He is well aware that both of these are a very real possibility; he knows that Nat's weakness is her neck and he could go for that weak point during one of his rages. He also has a vague idea that Immortals tend to confront each other on a regular basis, and if she fought one and lost, she could die for good.

Despite his manly strutting and posturing Victor can be incredibly insecure when it comes to partnerships, and he fears that Nat will lose interest in him and go looking for someone else, although his usual fear of his lover leaving him for someone younger isn't as much of an issue for him with Nat simply because she is an immortal. Age doesn't seem to be as much of an issue with her.

He also fears for Logan at times, despite the fact that the brothers have been separated for some time. Logan walked out of Victor's life when they were a part of the Team X program, and Victor has never quite forgiven him for it. He still thinks of Logan and wonders what his brother is up to.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?

The one thing that Victor wants more than anything is Adamantium. He is working with Stryker on the Weapon X project, planning on coating Logan's bones with the indestructible metal, on the proviso that he, too, will receive the same treatment. He wants nothing more than to have Adamantium-coated claws and teeth to improve his ability to hunt and kill.

Victor also hopes to be with Nat for the foreseeable future. She isn't just a fuck-buddy or a casual thing; to him, she's a long-term mating prospect, and the simple fact that she won't die like a mortal woman means a lot to him.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?

He doesn't like people knowing about his alcoholic father and his drunken rages, or what happened between him and Sarah, his first love. They expose a vulnerable side to him which he sees as a weakness, and if anyone knew about it, he fears they would exploit that weakness. He's also fallen for Nat a lot harder than he ever meant to, and he tries to hide that even from himself because he's convinced that things will only end badly. With him and women, they usually do.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.

Victor's mother died when he was very young, barely even a year or two old, so he only has hazy memories of her; it's partly because of this that he's always had such a bad relationship with the other women in his life, because he feels in a way that his mother let him down by not being there for him when his father flew into his drunken rages.

His father was Thomas Logan, the groundskeeper for the Howlett Estate, a violent alcoholic who beat him from a very young age. I think Thomas somehow blamed Victor for his mother's death. When Victor's mutations showed themselves, he tried to hide them from his father, but Thomas discovered them and tried to 'cure' what he saw as his 'devil-child' of a son by tearing out his teeth and claws. Having regeneration, however, they soon grew back, which only caused Thomas to hate his son even more.

In a way, Victor feels like he was a failure because he never did stand up to his father properly. It was James Howlett, Jimmy, who killed Thomas Logan - and in doing so did something that Victor could never bring himself to do.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

James Logan. Need I say more? To Victor, losing Logan was like losing an arm; they pretty much lived side-by-side for around 150 years, fought together, almost died together and know each other inside out, upside-down and back-to-front. They don't always get along; Victor finds Logan's moral attitude to be wishy-washy, and Logan finds himself disgusted by some of Victor's actions, although he tries his best to ignore them when he can. Victor feels that Logan should embrace his more feral side, whereas Logan constantly tries to encourage Victor to become more human. Essentially, they're both pulling in opposite directions but they can never fully bring themselves to tear away from each other, constantly drawn together by their shared blood and history. Even though Logan walked away from Victor, Victor can't help but wonder about him a lot, constantly concerned for him. He thinks about Logan all the time despite the fact that they haven't talked for years.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

Logan is the only living blood relative whom Victor is really aware of.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

He doesn't consider himself close enough to think of anyone else as 'family'.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Friends aren't something that Victor really has. He doesn't really trust anyone except for himself.

6. Does he have other close friends?

Nope. Ditto for this one.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

Again, no. He's definitely not a 'people person'.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

Family. Logan has always been the most important person in Victor's life, and that hasn't ever changed; they've relied on each other for so long that it's second nature, and Victor doesn't get along well with others.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?

Victor is currently the lover of Natalie Bruenner (jurisimmortalis), an Immortal (from the 'Highlander' fandom.) He met her completely by accident one night when he was looking for a place to stay; despite having a room on Three Mile Island, he still prefers to sleep rough and find his own place to stay. He's always been something of a drifter. He'd climbed an abandoned building only to find the top apartment occupied by a woman in the middle of some sparring practice and, thinking her an easy target, stole into her loft to take her down. What followed was one of the most intense couplings of his life; he has since returned to Nat's loft to rut, and ended up staying indefinitely.

For Victor, Nat isn't just a fling or a one-night stand. His feelings for her are passionate and intense and he feels drawn to her as he's never felt drawn to any other female in this life. This may partly be due to the fact that she's a predator as he is, or perhaps it's due to knowing that her lifespan will be longer than that of a mortal female (provided she doesn't get killed, of course.) He feels protective and possessive towards her and considers her his 'mate'.

Marriage has never been an option for Victor. His parents hardly set a good example of marriage, and he's never been with a female long enough before to consider such a long-term partnership.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

Nope. He's fallen for Nat far harder than he ever thought he would, and he isn't even interested in being with anyone else now.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?

His first crush was Sarah, a girl he met once when he went into a town to find food; he was fifteen at the time. He was smitten with her looks and her bold attitude, and when she let him lose his virginity to her, he was pretty much eating out of the palm of her hand. Soon after that, though, he found out that she was actually a prostitute; he was unable to bear the thought of her being with anyone else, and he couldn't stand the betrayal, so he murdered her. She was his first love, and his first kill. This probably helps to explain why he finds it so easy to associate sex with violence.

Nat doesn't really count as a 'crush'. What they have seems to be far more intense than that.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?

Victor needs someone who can match him both mentally and physically, someone who presents a challenge and a constant source of entertainment; he needs mind games and power play as well as games of sexual dominance, otherwise he gets easily bored and just moves onto the next person. He's highly demanding physically - let's face it, that regeneration means he doesn't just roll over and fall asleep when he's done - so he needs someone with a high sex drive who can keep him satisfied, as well as keeping the sex varied. Looks are less important to him than someone who can keep him busy - but he does find Nat incredibly gorgeous, especially that husky Texan accent.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?

It's quite possible that Victor has fathered many children in his time, from casual liaisons as well as his repeated sexual crimes, but he doesn't know for sure if he has - and even if he did, he wouldn't really care. He doesn't like human children, finding them loud and annoying.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

He tends to make enemies easily, so he's probably got them all over the place.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

Victor is pretty much straight. He's not particularly homophobic, but he doesn't really appreciate being chatted up by men. On the Kinsey scale, he's a 0.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?

Sex is very important to Victor. In his feral mindset, sex isn't just a recreational activity, it's a way to show dominance and assert his superiority as well as being downright enjoyable. It's one of the few things that can calm him down as it's an important release of anger and tension for him.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

Again, it's crude but I'll say it; he takes great pleasure from committing rape. He gets a thrill from being in control and causing so much pain and suffering, and it's all tied in to the fact he hates women. By taking them in this way, he gets to establish his dominance and teach them all a lesson for treating him so badly in the past; in his twisted mind, they deserve it.

He also gets such a thrill from mind games and powerplay; although he doesn't realise it, he's in constant need of a mother figure who can lay down rules and keep in control because he lacked a mother figure as a child. This is why he gets such a kick out of a stern woman being in command, since he never had it when he was younger. He adores the kind of sex where there's a constant flow and flux of power, where he gets to call the shots one minute and the woman does the next, since this keeps him interested and presents a challenge for him.

One thing he does love to do when he gets the chance is let his animal side take over; unsheathe his claws and rut like an utter beast, biting and clawing at his female, claiming her and taking her and making her his own in the most primal, feral way possible, leaving his scent all over them. (There aren't many women who have ever been able to handle this...)

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

Victor Creed doesn't seem to have an established birthday in Marvel canon; I decided to make him a Scorpio because his personality fits in with what 'typical' Scorpios are like.

Scorpios tend to be obsessed with sex and death, and have obsessive, possessive personalities. They are passionate, intense and secretive, and if they ever reveal something hidden about themselves to another, they expect the person they are revealing it to to be grateful for this imparting of information and appreciate the telling of the secret. Personality traits of the Scorpio include jealousy, moodiness, cunning, stubborness and being quick-tempered. As lovers, Scorpios are incredibly possessive yet protective of their partners. They choose few friends, but those they do have they tend to keep for a long time; they also tend to be loyal and devoted to their families.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?

He isn't very religious, but he does believe in God and the Devil. As mentioned earlier, he learned to read from the Bible, so as a child he had Christian theology drummed into his brain, and it's stuck with him ever since. It's not a particularly important part of his life since he doesn't tend to worry about death much, although he is starting to notice that he's getting older, so thoughts of dying are beginning to creep into his mind. Even so, after all he's seen and done, he tends to think that God doesn't really care that much, so he isn't big on sins and redemption.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

He is fiercely loyal to his family, but everyone else can go take a flying fuck through a ring donut. This stems back to his hard childhood, after he had to flee the Howlett household with James; all they had were each other, so he learned not to rely on or trust anyone else except his own brother - and in the end, even he ended up letting him down.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

He's pretty much indifferent to the beliefs of others. If you're a target to him, he couldn't care less if you were a Hindu, a Buddhist, an atheist or a Christian - you're still dead. As for being tolerant, he wouldn't judge anyone else on their beliefs since he doesn't hold too firmly onto his own.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?

Victor is a complete misogynist. He has no respect for women at all; he thinks they should only exist in the background to be ignored, unless you want to have sex with them, in which case you can just take them and do what you like with them until they break. This is due in no small part to the death of his mother at such a young age; in a way, Victor has always resented his mother for not being there to protect him from the drunken rages of his father, and subconsciously gravitates towards a 'mother figure' in his adult relationships since he always lacked one as a child.

Another reason for Victor's intense disregard for women stems from his first disastrous relationship with a girl named Sarah. He lost his virginity to her (and she was willing), and he fell for her in the way only a fifteen-year-old boy can, only to later find out that she was actually a prostitute, and the affection she showed to him was nothing more than a sham. He never quite got over the betrayal and now views all women as lying bitches who will eventually let him down.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

He doesn't have much in the way of wealth, but he likes it that way. He's lived long enough to understand that money and material possessions are only fleeting; in a strange, zen-like philosophy that's almost at odds with his violent and hedonistic nature, he realises that money isn't what's really important in this world, so he doesn't strive to become rich or hoard what money he has. I would imagine a fair amount of his military paycheck remains unclaimed. He doesn't really own any material possessions other than the clothes he stands up in and the few things he needs to function properly in a military camp - standard-issue military uniform, weapons and equipment - and some items which he's kept for sentimental value.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?

He was born as the son of a manual labourer, and I'd say his status hasn't changed that much over his lifetime; he's gone from living in near-poverty to living rough to being a soldier and a mercenary, and he's always had to work hard for what he's got (in a monetary sense, that is.) It hasn't affected him much since he's never really known any different; as a child, he was somewhat resentful of James Howlett's seemingly-idyllic lifestyle, but ever since the two of them had to fight to survive together that doesn't really matter as much any more, although he occasionally had a disagreement about it with Logan. It's not something he broods on much, anyway.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

Victor's home is wherever he lays his hat ass. He's lived in countless places in his lifetime; his early years were spent in a shack, then wherever he could find shelter in the Canadian wilderness, followed by years of sleeping rough and of course many different military barracks right through from the 19th century to the present day.

Although he currently has a room assigned to him on Three Mile Island, his current 'home' is Nat's loft apartment. He enjoys being able to sleep with and wake up with his female; he doesn't have much in the way of material possessions, so he doesn't clutter the place up.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

He doesn't tend to buy luxuries. If there's anything he wants, he's more likely to just take it. If it's something in a shop, he'd steal it, and if he saw someone carrying something he wanted, he'd just beat them down and grab it from them. This is partly because he grew up having to steal in order to survive, and the scavenger's instinct is still with him, and partly because he enjoys just being able to do what he wants. It makes him feel superior.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

He's the best there is at what he does - and what he does is a lot nastier than whatever Logan can come up with. *ahem* He's a soldier by trade and has been for most of his life, signing up for various armies over the years as well as hiring out his services. He is a highly-skilled hunter and killer, and he takes a sick pleasure in what he does, prolonging the pain and suffering of his victims if he possibly can. He enjoys working for Stryker as the Colonel lets him get away with far more than he would be able to do in a normal military squad.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?

Much of his free time is spent maintaining his military equipment - which he still owns and sometimes carries, despite having claws - such as cleaning his gun and making sure his combat knife is kept sharp, although he does tend to read now and again. The kind of books he prefers are military manuals and guides rather than works of fiction, although I imagine he has read a few 'classics' such as John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men'.

He also likes to get involved with various schemes if he can; he can be incredibly devious at times, working on elaborate revenge plots against people who have wronged him and generally being spiteful to people he doesn't like. At the end of the day, he's very selfish and he'll get involved in just about anything if it means he can get his own way.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?

Victor just eats whenever he's hungry. He'll tend to scavenge and graze rather than sit down and eat full meals, preferring foods with a high protein content such as red meats and fish to maintain his bulky figure and give him the energy he needs to go out on the hunt. Despite the legacy of his drunken father, he does have alcohol, preferring strong spirits such as bourbon and brandy since they're the only ones strong enough to get him drunk. (Since his healing ability works more slowly than Logan's, he is capable of getting slightly tipsy since his body can't process the alcohol as quickly as his brother's can.)

Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? He likes khaki, red and black for army, blood and night.
2. Smell? Blood. He also can't resist the smell of a woman in heat.
3. Time of day? Dusk. It's his favourite time for hunting.
4. Season? Autumn. Just because.
5. Book? "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. He lived in the States during the depression and had to do the same kind of work as George and Lennie; it also makes him think of himself and Logan because, cruelly, he sometimes pictures himself as George and Logan as Lennie.
6. Music? "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". One of the first songs he learned in the Union army, it brings back a lot of good, vivid memories for him.
7. Place? The lake on the Howlett Estate where he played with James as a child. It was one of the only places he could escape his father and truly enjoy himself.
8. Substance? Beef jerky. It's the way his teeth go into it.
9. Plant? Spruce trees. The smell always reminds him of growing up with Logan in the wilds.
10. Animal? Tiger, naturally. ^_^ He likes the way they hunt.
