Due to my lack of knowledge in Irish Mannerisms, like "lads" or "Grand" I find myself overcompensating in the southern California Surfer lingo. No joke, "Dude", and "Awesome" are part of my every day vocabulary. Seriously, I got out of swim practice (I died. Not much different than in the States.) And they have a hair drying room. Where they supply hair dryers and mirrors. This is at 8:30 in the morning. Actual hair dryers, not the hand dryers that they place higher on the wall so you can stick your head under. And I was like all walking past,(the Irish say "like" more than a valley girl on crack, so i am safe there, just blending in... "Crack" means fun in Irish by the way, but i think they spell it differently.Imagine hearing that in context for the first time ) By the way, i was mistaken for a Canadian... but thats a different story... Anyway, I automatically did a one-eighty. The conversation was as follows: and i quote.
"Dude, what is this." wide eyed Farley
"Its a hair drying room" Weirded out Irish girl
"No way, that is totally awesome"... "I wont use it, but awesome"
And i walked away with my Chargers baseball cap and a wet bun. Only realizing later, the extent of what i had done.
