Banners - Catching Up!

Here is a reference post as we're a bit behind in banners. ^^; Banner makers, please let me know if you're still able to do them or if they're in progress or if you need any help!♥ Any volunteers are welcome!

Okie dokes, I'm going to choose one I recently made, which is the one I made for wicked_enough.

(I'm using Paint Shop Pro 8 but the stuff I do is pretty basic)

First I take her icon:

Open a 300x100 graphic (any color, it doesn't matter) and paste it onto it. Then I take a regular 1 pixel border and make it the same color as the icon's (#89BAD6) and paste it as a new layer but make sure its under the layer the icon is on. Then I make a similar border (with a whoooollleee lot of copying and pasting) and also paste it as a new layer and set it onto screen. Every 'paste as a new layer' from here on should be done under the layer the borders are on. So far I get this:


The next thing I do is find the same image which luckily can be found at yuuwatase.net, crop it in any way so there is room for me to put text and paste it as a new layer. Then I duplicate this layer and set it to screen at 34%. The next thing I do is the most noticeable thing on the icon which is the light texture. I noticed it was one that myrasis made so I opened one similar to it and pasted it as a new layer in the same corner, erased whatever covered too much of her face and so far I have this:


I pasted on some more random light textures (namely this one)in the upper left-hand corner because I noticed that compared to the icon, my banner image had too much blue.


And that's pretty much it. The rest is just adding the text (I used Times New Roman at size 5 and all caps with the Kerning at 500, I forgot what font I used for the S though I think it was ChopinScript). There's some small tiny text there under the icon's "Peace" so I decided to use a tiny text brush that colorfilter made and put two of them there in the same color and tried to imitate the position of it as well.


I hope that was descriptive enough. I would've liked to show more graphics but there's only so much you can write into these comment boxes. Feel free to ask me anything. :D

Wow. I got of learning to do ^^ you have good eye for catching what's being used in the icons.

(I just tend to go "Oooooo Pertty" and that's about it XD )

A lot of it is just pure guessing and trial and error. I think you'll do perfectly fine. After all, your icons are just as pretty! *_*!
