This is sort of late, but I just wanted to say that I am so sorry. I lost my dog back in May, and I don't think I will ever stop missing her (tearing up, in fact, just writing this). So, uh, solidarity, I guess. Somewhere Thea and my Casey Boo are playing together.
My dachshund I had for the longest time when I was originally posting on here died something like 5 years ago - I was in a horrible state for a bit after that. Last year I decided to be kind of masochistic and adopted another dog.
The masochism is because the dog I adopted is already 12, and she's a basset hound with a decent number of health issues (mostly, she's prone towards getting ulcerated dog zits, I guess, for lack of a better term. And random fungal/bacterial infections ALL THE TIME). But she'd had this really sad state where she'd basically lived with a family until the "dad" got alzheimers and forgot who she was and started abusing her. Then she was adopted by somebody else for a year, who developed terminal cancer.
...She's gorgeous and the sweetest dog, though. And sleeping basset hounds are the cutest things. :)
