There's a storm blowing through another part of Korea right now, but what we reap from it is brief rain showers and spectacular fast-moving grey clouds. The wind is blowing against the flow of the river, and the sun is behind a misty grey cloud headed in the same direction. Everything reflects light in shades of pearl, from the semi-metal grey to pinks and creams. There's a little pagoda-style gazebo in a little park that I've never noticed before, hidden away between my apartment building and the fancy ones it's attached to. It's like a little oasis in a sea of kudzu before you hit the river.
I wonder if the monks at the monastery are going to clear the kudzu off of their pine trees... they're about to be swallowed.
