I'm an Auntie! And I have no wisdom teeth anymore (also an old baby tooth with nothing coming in under it is gone too, which is hurting worse than the wisdom teeth. Go figure.
My littler niece Rio was born on December 20th at 12:06 pm. She wasn't supposed to be here so early, and I was at work for a full half of the day without knowing that she'd been born. They had some complications involving Kristen being allergic to Morphine and it somehow getting into the epidural they gave her, so they rushed her into surgery, preformed a c-section (at apparently lighting speed) and Rio was born. As you can imagine, it's been crazy. Poor Denny developed pink-eye yesterday, so now after a full night of bonding with his baby he can't be near her until she comes home, and then he has to be insanely careful about keeping clean. Rio is only 5 pounds 12 ounces, but that girl has a set of lungs on her. She's also currently a blue-eyed blond. If her eyes remain blue, she'll be the first blue-eyed girl in our direct line of decent in four generations.
As far as the wisdom and baby teeth, I got them pulled at 9:30 this morning, got my first IV ever (that I can remember) that knocked me out cold, andI woke up numb and without 5 teeth. So far I'm only missing the baby tooth, the others aren't bothering me.
I got out of the oral surgeon's place at 10:45, went to Macy's with Mom and Shelby for a facial at 11:00, got a gift of pretty bamboo for Mae at Jade Garden, delivered said bamboo and ate a bowl of wonton soup on the house (setting the record for longest amount of time taken or to be taken by me to eat a bowl of won ton - it was cold by the time I was done), sat in the car as mom did more shopping, until she FINALLY brought me home where I stocked up on meds and passed out for a couple of hours before going to the Keleher Family Christmas Bash (otherwise known as the Pasole Bowl), where I ate soggy (but good - I dunked them in coffee) chocolate chip cookies and talked more than I should have all while holding an ice-pack to my left cheek. (hah, my sentence building is atrocious, but it doesn't matter to me, I'm on Hydrocodone!)
Now, I hop up on more meds and go to sleep with my swelling left cheek against my icepack. Wish me luck I don't look like a chipmonk tomorrow.
I have the cutest niece ever~
The left side of my tongue is still numb.
