“Ready or not, here I come!” Little Changmin’s shouted cheerfully from somewhere downstairs.
In a state of panic, five-year-old Jaejoong looked left and right in the hallway upstairs. He was sure Changmin would be here any moment now after he checked everywhere downstairs.
“What to do? I don’t want to get caught!” Jaejoong whispered frantically to himself. This was their first time playing in Changmin’s house, so naturally he didn’t know where he could go in their game of hide and seek.
“I know you are up there!” Changmin’s voice was nearing the bottom of the stairs.
As soon as Jaejoong heard Changmin’s hurried footstep coming up the stairs, he rushed to the end of the hall and randomly pulled open the door and rushed in. With Changmin’s footstep getting closer, Jaejoong climbed into the big bed and got under the covers of the comfy blue blanket.
Suddenly an arm came around him trapping him causing little Jaejoong to realize someone was in the bed already! It was Changmin’s older brother!
“Oh no!” Jaejoong panicked again. He wanted to get out, but Changmin’s so close! So he held his breathe and waited.
Noticing something’s off, or rather someone in his bed, Changmin’s older brother Yunho opened his eyes to what became a shock of his life.
There was a boy in his bed with him!
Yunho wanted to scream, but the boy held his chubby little hands over his mouth signaling him to be quiet. He could easily remove the boy’s hands, but something about those big doe eyes peering up at him with fright caused him to stay where he is.
That’s when he heard his door click open.
“Anyone here?” Changmin peered into his big brother’s room. “Awe, hyung’s still sleeping.” He looked at the big bump in the bed. “Is it just me or does it look like hyung got bigger? Must tell him to stay away from my snacks and start exercising!”
Under the covers Yunho’s eyes widened dramatically, ready to jump out and tackle his brother if it wasn’t for Jaejoong still holding his hands over his mouth.
Jaejoong saw his friend’s brother’s face light up in anger with his brows furrowed together, he had to remove one hand to cover his own mouth to prevent Changmin from hearing him laughing.
“Oh well, don’t think any of them would dare to hide here.” And with that Changmin left the room to continue his search for his friends.
When Changmin’s footsteps got further away, Jaejoong couldn’t control himself much longer and brought both of his hands in front of his face to hide his giggles.
“What are you laughing at? It’s your fault he called me fat!” Yunho said in a fake annoyed tone.
All the anger he felt with Changmin’s words had immediately evaporated as soon as he had heard the little angel’s cute giggles.
‘This must be one of Changmin’s new little friends.’ Yunho thought to himself. ‘Cute.’
“I’m sorry.” Jaejoong bowed his head even more trying to stifle his laughter.
“Still think its funny huh? Then I’ll give you something to laugh about.” Yunho reached over and tickled the cute little boy mercilessly.
“Hahahahaha!” Ticklish little Jaejoong couldn’t stop himself from laughing now. He rolled around the bed trying to get away from the evil hands. “Stop… haha… stop!!” Jaejoong whispers in between laughter.
But Yunho didn’t have enough yet; his heart blossomed with happiness hearing this little angel’s laughter.
All the laughter and actions finally came to a stop when both of them fell off the bed with a loud thump with Yunho landing on top of Jaejoong.
The two boys stared into each other’s eyes; even at such a young age they still felt some sort of connection in the form of happiness blooming in their hearts.
Yunho, being the mature boy that is about to become a teen, finally gets up and helps the little boy up as well.
“Want to tell me what you are doing here?” Yunho asks after a few minutes of awkward silence.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you! I really didn’t!” Little Jaejoong quickly shook his head frantically to emphasize his point. “I… I… Minnie was coming! I didn’t want him to find me! Meany Yoosu hid in the bathtub but said it wouldn’t hold Joongie too! So they pushed me out…” Jaejoong came to a halt with tears brimming his big doe eyes.
Yunho felt his young heart ache at the sight of the angel cry. He puts his arms around the boy and whispered comforting words into his ears. “It’s okay, I’m not mad at you. You can hide here anytime you want. And Changmin didn’t find you either. Don’t cry.”
Jaejoong let out a couple more sniffles and then looked up at Changmin’s nice big brother with a big smile adoring his chubby face, “You are nice, thank you!”
Yunho felt overwhelming proud such a cute little compliment and smiled back.
“Joongie! Where are you?” Both of them heard Junsu’s loud little squeak from downstairs. “Hyung, Minnie found us, but where are you?”
“It was all because your duck butt was sticking out.” Chun adds grumpily.
“Was not!” Came Junsu’s indignant cries.
Yunho and Jaejoong laughed at their bantering. “Maybe it was a good thing they didn’t let you hide with them.” Yunho joked and saw the happy smile on Jaejoong’s face again.
“Joongie Hyung, you can come out now. The game is over!” Changmin ignored the two and continued to find Jaejoong.
Jaejoong looks to Changmin’s nice big brother, gave him another big smile before hoping down from the bed, “I won!”
The chubby little boy jumps around happily cheering, “I won I won!! Thank you again!” And the cute little boy ran to the door.
Before he left completely, his adorable little head appeared in the doorway again, “hyung, please don’t tell them where I was hiding.” He added his famous pout along with puppy dog eyes for better effect.
Yunho could have sworn he melted upon seeing that sight, “It’ll be our little secret!” He winks at the little angel and watched him run downstairs to join his friends.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Two years later on a Friday after school, the boys gathered again in Changmin’s house again to play the same game. Even though they’ve played this game in this house many times since, Jaejoong felt like all the options of hiding have been explored. Under desks, inside closets, they have literally been through every corner of the house.
This time with Yoochun seeking, Jaejoong found himself hiding under the blankets on the bed of Changmin’s older brother once again.
However, this time Yunho wasn’t there.
Jaejoong doesn’t know why he expected Changmin’s brother to be there, after all, Yunho is now 12, and has his own friends to hang out with. Maybe its because he has always been fond of Changmin’s older brother since he never had one himself… He only has 8 noisy girly older sisters running around at home.
This time Jaejoong wanted to follow Changmin to hid since that boy is so smart and is always hard to find even if it’s not in his own house. But Changmin disappeared as soon as Yoochun started counting. And Junsu? That dolphin was too squeaky, is too easy to find him.
He heard little footsteps running around the house, and heard Yoosu bickering and Changmin with his snarky comments.
When Yoochun wanted to open the room to the door, Changmin quickly stopped him, “Hyung said we can’t go into his room.” So they left.
Jaejoong felt bad that he is in Yunho’s room when Changmin said it wasn’t allowed, he decided that he would leave as soon as they declared the game over and that he has won.
Yet as time dragged on, Jaejoong’s eyelids became heavy, and he accidentally fell into dreamless sleep.
Yunho came home about 2 hours later from his friends house after working on a school project, but saw his little brother sitting in front of the TV so he joined him.
It wasn’t until after dinner and another movie before Yunho finally went upstairs to his room ready to lie down on his comfortable bed for some rest.
As he got in bed, he realized the cute little angelic friend of his brother was once again in his bed but this time sound asleep. His soulful doe eyes hidden as his long lashes graces his pale cheeks. Those luscious pink lips slightly parted dreamed away.
He didn’t dare wake up the sleeping beauty so he went on and did everything he need before he got to bed.
Not sure what to do about the little boy, Yunho decided to lie down on his bed carefully as to not disturb the beauty.
Suddenly a crazy thought hit Yunho’s mind, ‘if I ever get a girlfriend like the rest of my friends, I want her feature to be like this angel’s.’
Laying there daydreaming, he fell asleep as well.
Yunho was the first to wake up the next day with an angel cuddling to his side. It was an adorable sight as he watched the little boy blinked his eyes waking up.
“You are awake.” Yunho said as the boy rubbed his eyes slowly.
Jaejoong nodded his head slowly since he is not yet entirely rid of all the drowsiness. But he suddenly realized this wasn’t his room, he wasn’t on his bed! What was Changmin’s brother doing here? “Hyung? ...Where am I?”
“You are in my room. I assume you fell asleep here while playing with my brother and your friends.”
Jaejoong slowly recalled falling asleep while waiting to be found when playing hide and seek. “I’m sorry I’ve bothered you again…” He lowered his head embarrassed.
“It’s fine. I did remember giving you the permission to hide here anytime.” Yunho smiled. “Come on, go get washed up and we can get something to eat for breakfast.”
Jaejoong nodded, he rolled out of bed and followed Yunho’s words only to stop in mid-action realizing he had slept through the night. “OH NO! What about my parents! They must be so worried, oh no!!! I’m so grounded!” Jaejoong started panicking and his little feet already on his way out of the door.
Yunho chuckled at the cute sight and quickly catches the little angel’s arm before he ran out of the door, “Calm down Jae, I’ve already called your parents asking if you can sleepover last night with Changmin. They were fine with it.”
Jaejoong finally relaxed and sled down to sit on the floor from where he was standing. “You are the best hyung ever! Why is Minnie so lucky? Thank you! You are so nice, but Minnie is never this nice to me even though I’m older than him. Are you really his hyung? He is nothing like you.” Jaejoong rambled happily.
Again, Yunho couldn’t help but chuckle at the adorable little angel. “Unfortunately yes, that little food monster is my little brother.” Yunho joked.
“You call him that too? I always thought Minnie’s a food monster! Cookie Monster only eats cookies, but Minnie eats everything! He always steals my lunch.” Jaejoong pouts at that memory.
“He steals your lunch? I’ll talk to him about that so he would stop.” Yunho promised.
“Oh thank you hyung! You are the best!” Jaejoong exclaimed again.
“Come on, let’s get you washed up and downstairs for breakfast. We’ll tell Min that your parents had came to pick you up and bring you home early yesterday before you got a chance to tell them.”
With the plan set, the two of them readied themselves and went downstairs.
Another game brought the two closer than before, the something in their hearts blossomed ever more.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 5 years later, Jaejoong and his three buddies sat around on a Saturday afternoon at Changmin’s house with nothing to do.
“It’s so boring.” Yoochun grumbled.
“Well, how about you suggest something to do?” Changmin sneered.
“But you are smart one Minnie,” Junsu looks to Changmin, “Shouldn’t you come up something for us to do?”
“A genius has to rest sometimes too.” Changmin grumbled. “And you have no right to call me Minnie!”
Then it was silent as they sat together trying to find something to do.
“I remember the first time I came here.” Jaejoong suddenly started. “We played hide and seek.”
“Let’s play that then!” Junsu jumps up from his seat all ready to go.
“But that’s so childish.” Changmin sneered again.
“We are never too old to have some fun!” Junsu replies again poking Changmin. “Come on, I’ll be the first to seek!”
So with that, the boys started another round of hide and seek.
Jaejoong knew from last time Yunho wouldn’t like people going into his room, and Jaejoong respects that. But when Junsu’s footsteps closed in, he rushed into the room anyways.
He stood there thinking about hiding under the blanket like previous times, but he thought he is a big boy now; he can’t hide under a blanket!
Then he heard the doorknob rattle, so with no other choice he quickly got into the closet nearby.
He crouched down and waited as footsteps came closer and closer to the closet.
Jaejoong felt his heart drum away and he held his breathe and put his hands over his eye praying the door wouldn’t be opened.
Either God is sleeping or too busy, for his prayers were ignored. The door opened anyways, and he counted the seconds ready to hear Junsu squeak, “Found you!”
But it never came.
Jaejoong slowly parted his fingers and peeked through them only to find the 17-year-old Yunho with only a towel covering the lower half of body, with droplets of water dripping down his tanned muscular chest. To Jaejoong, at such a young age, he thought he was looking at the body of a Greek God.
Yunho was even more surprised to see find someone hiding in his closet after coming out of the shower. But when he saw those adorable doe eyes peering out at him through the fingers, he knew right away that his brother and friends were playing yet another game of hide and seek.
“I heard some noise here! He has to be here.” Junsu squeaked to Yoochun outside in the hallway.
Jaejoong put a finger on his lips with round doe eyes watering signaling to Yunho to be quiet.
Only seconds later the door opened, but it was slammed shut as soon as it opened with a loud squeak from Junsu, “Min! Your brother is walking around the house naked!”
And then two sets of footsteps hurried away.
Crimson blush spread across Yunho’s face upon hearing that.
Jaejoong covered mouth again to stop his laughter. “Sorry hyung for disturbing you again.”
“It’s fine Jae, I still remember giving you permission to hide here.” Yunho quickly moved aside to make way for Jaejoong to get out. The blush never left his face.
“Thanks again hyung! You are the best!” Jaejoong tiptoed and give Yunho a quick innocent kiss on his cheeks.
It just so happens Junsu had dragged Changmin and Yoochun there that very moment so Changmin could ask his brother to put on some cloth.
“Ew! Hyung’s making out with a girl!!!” Changmin quickly closed his eyes and pushed his two friends out.
Junsu didn’t see anything since he was too afraid of seeing Changmin’s brother naked again, which could blind his innocent eyes.
The curious Yoochun, however, found the girl that Yunho hyung was supposedly making out with looks awfully a lot like Jaejoong, but Changmin pushed him out before he could look again to confirm.
This episode made the blush on Yunho’s face deepen and Jaejoong’s face flaming red as well.
“Sorry hyung for making the misunderstand you again, I’ll leave before causing you more trouble!” Jaejoong hurried out of the room before his face gets any redder.
“So that’s why my friends are always talking about how great it feels to be kissed.” Yunho stood there stunned in wonder while holding his cheeks that has just been kissed.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ A weekend years later, Yunho comes home from studying at the library to find Changmin and his friends sitting around the living room. They were all formally dressed in suits, looking like the popular flower boys on TV ready to go to an award ceremony. What caught his eyes though was the distressed look on Jaejoong’s face.
Yunho who has always seen cute bubbly Jaejoong, felt something tug at his heart when seeing him like this.
At the age of 17 now, Jaejoong has grown to be a beautiful flower, capturing the eyes of girls and guys alike. And Yunho who had previously thought he might have a tiny crush on Jaejoong was absolutely positive that he really likes the angel.
“What’s wrong?” Yunho asked when to break the gloomy atmosphere.
Jaejoong looked up at Yunho and locked eyes with Yunho for a second before he quickly looked away. With just that one look Yunho saw how troubled Jaejoong felt.
Changmin looked up and saw the curious and concerned look on his brother’s face. Thinking that his brother was older and wiser and might be able to help, so he decided to tell him, “Siwon asked Jaejoong to go to the prom with him.”
Yunho felt his heart break hearing that, but he forced himself to look calm, “What’s wrong with that?” He asked.
Even though he wanted to deny it, but he could almost swore Jaejoong casted disappointed glance at him.
“But Heechul likes Siwon and threatened our Joongie if arrives at prom Siwon then he will never see daylight again.” Junsu elaborated with fear etched onto his face. “No one at school dares to go against Heechul.”
“Why can’t he just reject him then?” The words slipped out of Yunho’s mouth almost way too fast.
“Siwon is persistent though. He said he knows Joongie doesn’t have a date yet, because everyone knows Joongie doesn’t have a boyfriend.” At this point of Junsu’s rambling caused Yunho to smile at heart, “So he says Joongie has no reason to reject him. And will pick Jaejoong up tonight. He will be at Jaejoong’s house in an hour.”
“Couldn’t he just stay here and not go?” Yunho suggested.
“Hyung, just because you never went to your prom, doesn’t mean our Jaejoong hyung can stay home like you.” Changmin threw a pitiful look at his older brother.
Junsu chirped in, “He was nominated to be the prom queen! He has to be there! He would make a lovely queen, don’t you think?”
Yunho nodded along with the others the while imagining Jaejoong in a nice gown with a glittering crown on his head.
Their school is an all-boy’s school that still wished to enjoy exciting events high school events, so the boys there nominated their most beautiful flower boys for their prom queen.
“I got it!” Changmin exclaimed.
Everyone quickly gathered around the genius waiting for him to reveal the solution to Jaejoong’s current dilemma.
“So hyung never went to prom before, and Jaejoong needs someone to go to the prom with so Siwon would force him to go with him… How about the two of you go together?”
With that Yunho looked to Jaejoong and Jaejoong looked back at Yunho. There was a certain hope shining in both of their eyes.
“What do you think hyung?” Changmin asked shaking Yunho out of his daydreaming.
“Um…” Yunho looked to Jaejoong to try to find any sign from this boy that he grew fond of. He almost lost his voice complete when he saw those big shinning doe eyes staring at him. “Sure… I don’t mind.” Yunho tried hard to mask the excitement he felt.
“Joongie what about you?” Yoochun turned to ask Jaejoong.
Before Jaejoong could even open his mouth Junsu chirped in to answer for him. “Of course it’s okay with him! This solves all the problems! Right Joongie?”
Jaejoong nodded slowly with a faint blush creeping up his cheeks.
“That’s settled then!” Changmin announced. Him and Yoochun got up from their seats and dragged Yunho into his room. “Junsu, you are in charge of getting rid of Jaejoong’s red eyes and keeping him happy!”
Within half an hour’s time, Changmin and Yoochun got Yunho in a suit and ready to go. The luxurious limo Yoochun’s family provided brought them to the prom scene.
At entrance stood Heechul and his gang waiting for someone. His glare immediately focused on Jaejoong as the angelic one made his way out of limo. However, his glare softened as he saw a handsome guy offer his hand to Jaejoong, and Jaejoong taken it with a sweet smile adoring his face.
“You are here Jaejoong.” Heechul said in a sugary sweet voice along with a fake smile. “And this is?” He looked to Yunho.
Jaejoong looked as well with a faint blush creeping up his face when he saw Yunho looking back at him waiting for his answer.
“Obviously he is Jaejoong’s date.” Changmin replied for him.
“Oh really?” Heechul smirked. “Well, nice pick. You made the right choice.” He hinted the correct choice Jaejoong made as not to be Siwon’s date. “I leave you to enjoy your night.” With that he left with his gang in search of Siwon.
Once he left, the five of them went into the venue enjoy their night. It didn’t take Yoochun and Junsu long to join the dance floor, and Changmin quickly found his way to the buffet section.
Yunho decided to take his chance make some advancement with his angel. “May I have this dance?”
His question took Jaejoong by surprise, but the sweet boy quickly nodded in response and let Yunho take his hand leading him to the dance floor.
The two of them melted into one on the dance floor with their worlds revolving completely around each other.
While enjoying each other’s company, a voice interrupted them.
“Jaejoong, there you are.” Siwon walks to the dancing couple and pulled Jaejoong out of Yunho’s arms. “Why didn’t you wait for me to pick you up?”
Jaejoong quickly glanced to Yunho for help.
“Excuse me, but Jaejoong is my date tonight. So of course he would be arriving with me.” Yunho said while sliding his arms around Jaejoong’s waist.
“Your date?” Siwon looked to Jaejoong for confirmation.
Jaejoong nodded and shyly buried his face in Yunho’s chest.
“Siwon, there you are.” Heechul showed up precisely at that moment and hooked his arms around Siwon’s dragging him away. “Come dance with me, let’s leave this couple to enjoy their night.”
Yunho noticed the uncomfortable aura around Jaejoong and led him outside to the garden.
“Are you okay?” Yunho kept his arms around Jaejoong and took at as a good sign when Jaejoong didn’t pull away.
Jaejoong hesitantly nodded, “I just hope Siwon isn’t mad at me… But if I didn’t do this, Heechul hyung would hate me, and I don’t want that.” He ended with a sigh.
“Don’t worry too much about it. Maybe Siwon is enjoy his time with Heechul right now.” Yunho tried to cheer him up.
Jaejoong slowly glanced up to Yunho’s face. “Are you enjoying your night?”
Surprised by the question left Yunho unable to answer for a moment.
With the lack of answer, Jaejoong’s head hung low again. “I’m sorry for dragging you into this. It seems like every time I’m trying to hide from someone you are always show up and save me. I’m sorry for being such a bother.”
Before Yunho could reply again, Heechul stood in front of them. “Hey Jaejoong, they will announce the prom queen soon. Let’s go get ready together!”
Since he didn’t want to burden Yunho any further, Jaejoong quickly accepted Heechul’s offer even though he had never really been on good terms with Heechul. Yunh could only watch as the two of them left for the restroom to get ready.
Not soon after they set foot in the restroom, Heechul paused, “Jaejoong, I left my stuff outside, I’ll go get it really quick.” He left without another word.
But when Jaejoong heard the loud slam of the door, he went to check to see what happened only to find the door locked.
“Heechul? Are you there?” He called out.
That’s when he heard Heechul’s bitter laughter. “Why do people think you are so much better? Siwon wont even dance with me tonight even when you came here with someone else. He said you are the prom queen tonight, and when the two of you receive the crown he will be able to dance with you and sweep you off your feet away from your date. Well guess what, I’m not going to let that happen. If you don’t show up for the award, it will be mine, and it will be me that will get to dance with him.” Then his angry footsteps disappeared down the hallway.
Jaejoong was scared. Everyone will be enjoying themselves tonight to check this restroom. If no one comes, he could be stuck here until Monday, 2 days later. What to do? Would his friends notice?
Minutes later they began announcing the prom king and queen of the year.
At that time Yunho felt nervous that Jaejoong isn’t by his side. ‘Did he end up joining Siwon to receive their crowns together?’ He thought anxiously. ‘No, that’s not like Jaejoong.’ Then he suddenly remembered Jaejoong left with Heechul, and Junsu’s words about the other boy, ‘What if something happened to him?’ With that in mind he dashed off to find Jaejoong. He ran up and down the hallways, checked all the empty rooms. Just as he was going to take a rest from the search, he passed the restroom and thought about going in to refresh himself a bit before looking for Jaejoong again. He pulled the door but it was locked.
From the inside Jaejoong heard someone turning the doorknob, and quickly seized his opportunity, “Is someone there?”
“Jaejoong?” Yunho was stunned to hear Jaejoong’s voice.
“Yunho hyung! Thank God you are here! This door is locked, can you get me out?”
“Let me try.” Yunho replied.
He backed up and then charged towards door with full force but the door didn’t open. Yunho tried and tried again and the door remained shut.
“Stop Yunho! Don’t hurt yourself!” Jaejoong’s heart ached from hearing the loud thumps on the door.
“Don't worry Jae, I’ll get you out.” Yunho said with determination and charged towards the door again.
Luckily it opened this time.
Tired from the force he used, Yunho slid down to the floor and Jaejoong rushed towards his side to check on him.
“Are you okay?” Jaejoong asked with full concern.
Yunho smiled. “Everything’s alright. I found you.” He then enveloped Jaejoong into a hug.
“Yunho…”
“You know Jae, I’m glad I’m always found you whenever you are hiding or even when someone is hiding you.” Yunho pulls away from the hug to look at Jaejoong into his eyes. Then he carefully spills his heart, “ I’m glad I found I found you in my life.”
Jaejoong pink lips curled up hearing Yunho’s announcement, and Yunho didn’t take any time before claiming those plump lips as his.
As expected, Siwon was announced to be the prom King, and Jaejoong to be the Queen.
However, after his name was called three times he still didn’t show up, they assumed Jaejoong wasn’t present and crowned Heechul instead.
When Jaejoong and Yunho made their way back to the dance floor, it was already too late to do anything. Heechul was already crowned queen and was dancing with Siwon happily across the dance floor.
“I’m sorry I didn’t find you earlier, or else you would have been the rightful queen.” Yunho says, tightening his hold on Jaejoong’s waist.
“I would make a beautiful queen wouldn't I?” Jaejoong replied cheekily. “But surely you wouldn’t want to see me in the arms of someone else right?”
“Of course not! You are my queen!” Yunho quickly answered. “My one and only. After all, it was me that found you.” With that he sealed his love for Jaejoong with another sweet kiss on those luscious pink lips he had always longed to taste. “Chajatta…”

Suddenly an arm came around him trapping him causing little Jaejoong to realize someone was in the bed already! It was Changmin’s older brother!
“Oh no!” Jaejoong panicked again. He wanted to get out, but Changmin’s so close! So he held his breathe and waited.
Noticing something’s off, or rather someone in his bed, Changmin’s older brother Yunho opened his eyes to what became a shock of his life.
There was a boy in his bed with him!
Yunho wanted to scream, but the boy held his chubby little hands over his mouth signaling him to be quiet. He could easily remove the boy’s hands, but something about those big doe eyes peering up at him with fright caused him to stay where he is.
That’s when he heard his door click open.
“Anyone here?” Changmin peered into his big brother’s room. “Awe, hyung’s still sleeping.” He looked at the big bump in the bed. “Is it just me or does it look like hyung got bigger? Must tell him to stay away from my snacks and start exercising!”
Under the covers Yunho’s eyes widened dramatically, ready to jump out and tackle his brother if it wasn’t for Jaejoong still holding his hands over his mouth.
Jaejoong saw his friend’s brother’s face light up in anger with his brows furrowed together, he had to remove one hand to cover his own mouth to prevent Changmin from hearing him laughing.
“Oh well, don’t think any of them would dare to hide here.” And with that Changmin left the room to continue his search for his friends.
When Changmin’s footsteps got further away, Jaejoong couldn’t control himself much longer and brought both of his hands in front of his face to hide his giggles.
“What are you laughing at? It’s your fault he called me fat!” Yunho said in a fake annoyed tone.
All the anger he felt with Changmin’s words had immediately evaporated as soon as he had heard the little angel’s cute giggles.
‘This must be one of Changmin’s new little friends.’ Yunho thought to himself. ‘Cute.’
“I’m sorry.” Jaejoong bowed his head even more trying to stifle his laughter.
“Still think its funny huh? Then I’ll give you something to laugh about.” Yunho reached over and tickled the cute little boy mercilessly.
“Hahahahaha!” Ticklish little Jaejoong couldn’t stop himself from laughing now. He rolled around the bed trying to get away from the evil hands. “Stop… haha… stop!!” Jaejoong whispers in between laughter.
But Yunho didn’t have enough yet; his heart blossomed with happiness hearing this little angel’s laughter.
All the laughter and actions finally came to a stop when both of them fell off the bed with a loud thump with Yunho landing on top of Jaejoong.
The two boys stared into each other’s eyes; even at such a young age they still felt some sort of connection in the form of happiness blooming in their hearts.
Yunho, being the mature boy that is about to become a teen, finally gets up and helps the little boy up as well.
“Want to tell me what you are doing here?” Yunho asks after a few minutes of awkward silence.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you! I really didn’t!” Little Jaejoong quickly shook his head frantically to emphasize his point. “I… I… Minnie was coming! I didn’t want him to find me! Meany Yoosu hid in the bathtub but said it wouldn’t hold Joongie too! So they pushed me out…” Jaejoong came to a halt with tears brimming his big doe eyes.
Yunho felt his young heart ache at the sight of the angel cry. He puts his arms around the boy and whispered comforting words into his ears. “It’s okay, I’m not mad at you. You can hide here anytime you want. And Changmin didn’t find you either. Don’t cry.”
Jaejoong let out a couple more sniffles and then looked up at Changmin’s nice big brother with a big smile adoring his chubby face, “You are nice, thank you!”
Yunho felt overwhelming proud such a cute little compliment and smiled back.
“Joongie! Where are you?” Both of them heard Junsu’s loud little squeak from downstairs. “Hyung, Minnie found us, but where are you?”
“It was all because your duck butt was sticking out.” Chun adds grumpily.
“Was not!” Came Junsu’s indignant cries.
Yunho and Jaejoong laughed at their bantering. “Maybe it was a good thing they didn’t let you hide with them.” Yunho joked and saw the happy smile on Jaejoong’s face again.
“Joongie Hyung, you can come out now. The game is over!” Changmin ignored the two and continued to find Jaejoong.
Jaejoong looks to Changmin’s nice big brother, gave him another big smile before hoping down from the bed, “I won!”
The chubby little boy jumps around happily cheering, “I won I won!! Thank you again!” And the cute little boy ran to the door.
Before he left completely, his adorable little head appeared in the doorway again, “hyung, please don’t tell them where I was hiding.” He added his famous pout along with puppy dog eyes for better effect.
Yunho could have sworn he melted upon seeing that sight, “It’ll be our little secret!” He winks at the little angel and watched him run downstairs to join his friends.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Two years later on a Friday after school, the boys gathered again in Changmin’s house again to play the same game. Even though they’ve played this game in this house many times since, Jaejoong felt like all the options of hiding have been explored. Under desks, inside closets, they have literally been through every corner of the house.
This time with Yoochun seeking, Jaejoong found himself hiding under the blankets on the bed of Changmin’s older brother once again.
However, this time Yunho wasn’t there.
Jaejoong doesn’t know why he expected Changmin’s brother to be there, after all, Yunho is now 12, and has his own friends to hang out with. Maybe its because he has always been fond of Changmin’s older brother since he never had one himself… He only has 8 noisy girly older sisters running around at home.
This time Jaejoong wanted to follow Changmin to hid since that boy is so smart and is always hard to find even if it’s not in his own house. But Changmin disappeared as soon as Yoochun started counting. And Junsu? That dolphin was too squeaky, is too easy to find him.
He heard little footsteps running around the house, and heard Yoosu bickering and Changmin with his snarky comments.
When Yoochun wanted to open the room to the door, Changmin quickly stopped him, “Hyung said we can’t go into his room.” So they left.
Jaejoong felt bad that he is in Yunho’s room when Changmin said it wasn’t allowed, he decided that he would leave as soon as they declared the game over and that he has won.
Yet as time dragged on, Jaejoong’s eyelids became heavy, and he accidentally fell into dreamless sleep.
Yunho came home about 2 hours later from his friends house after working on a school project, but saw his little brother sitting in front of the TV so he joined him.
It wasn’t until after dinner and another movie before Yunho finally went upstairs to his room ready to lie down on his comfortable bed for some rest.
As he got in bed, he realized the cute little angelic friend of his brother was once again in his bed but this time sound asleep. His soulful doe eyes hidden as his long lashes graces his pale cheeks. Those luscious pink lips slightly parted dreamed away.
He didn’t dare wake up the sleeping beauty so he went on and did everything he need before he got to bed.
Not sure what to do about the little boy, Yunho decided to lie down on his bed carefully as to not disturb the beauty.
Suddenly a crazy thought hit Yunho’s mind, ‘if I ever get a girlfriend like the rest of my friends, I want her feature to be like this angel’s.’
Laying there daydreaming, he fell asleep as well.
Yunho was the first to wake up the next day with an angel cuddling to his side. It was an adorable sight as he watched the little boy blinked his eyes waking up.
“You are awake.” Yunho said as the boy rubbed his eyes slowly.
Jaejoong nodded his head slowly since he is not yet entirely rid of all the drowsiness. But he suddenly realized this wasn’t his room, he wasn’t on his bed! What was Changmin’s brother doing here? “Hyung? ...Where am I?”
“You are in my room. I assume you fell asleep here while playing with my brother and your friends.”
Jaejoong slowly recalled falling asleep while waiting to be found when playing hide and seek. “I’m sorry I’ve bothered you again…” He lowered his head embarrassed.
“It’s fine. I did remember giving you the permission to hide here anytime.” Yunho smiled. “Come on, go get washed up and we can get something to eat for breakfast.”
Jaejoong nodded, he rolled out of bed and followed Yunho’s words only to stop in mid-action realizing he had slept through the night. “OH NO! What about my parents! They must be so worried, oh no!!! I’m so grounded!” Jaejoong started panicking and his little feet already on his way out of the door.
Yunho chuckled at the cute sight and quickly catches the little angel’s arm before he ran out of the door, “Calm down Jae, I’ve already called your parents asking if you can sleepover last night with Changmin. They were fine with it.”
Jaejoong finally relaxed and sled down to sit on the floor from where he was standing. “You are the best hyung ever! Why is Minnie so lucky? Thank you! You are so nice, but Minnie is never this nice to me even though I’m older than him. Are you really his hyung? He is nothing like you.” Jaejoong rambled happily.
Again, Yunho couldn’t help but chuckle at the adorable little angel. “Unfortunately yes, that little food monster is my little brother.” Yunho joked.
“You call him that too? I always thought Minnie’s a food monster! Cookie Monster only eats cookies, but Minnie eats everything! He always steals my lunch.” Jaejoong pouts at that memory.
“He steals your lunch? I’ll talk to him about that so he would stop.” Yunho promised.
“Oh thank you hyung! You are the best!” Jaejoong exclaimed again.
“Come on, let’s get you washed up and downstairs for breakfast. We’ll tell Min that your parents had came to pick you up and bring you home early yesterday before you got a chance to tell them.”
With the plan set, the two of them readied themselves and went downstairs.
Another game brought the two closer than before, the something in their hearts blossomed ever more.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 5 years later, Jaejoong and his three buddies sat around on a Saturday afternoon at Changmin’s house with nothing to do.
“It’s so boring.” Yoochun grumbled.
“Well, how about you suggest something to do?” Changmin sneered.
“But you are smart one Minnie,” Junsu looks to Changmin, “Shouldn’t you come up something for us to do?”
“A genius has to rest sometimes too.” Changmin grumbled. “And you have no right to call me Minnie!”
Then it was silent as they sat together trying to find something to do.
“I remember the first time I came here.” Jaejoong suddenly started. “We played hide and seek.”
“Let’s play that then!” Junsu jumps up from his seat all ready to go.
“But that’s so childish.” Changmin sneered again.
“We are never too old to have some fun!” Junsu replies again poking Changmin. “Come on, I’ll be the first to seek!”
So with that, the boys started another round of hide and seek.
Jaejoong knew from last time Yunho wouldn’t like people going into his room, and Jaejoong respects that. But when Junsu’s footsteps closed in, he rushed into the room anyways.
He stood there thinking about hiding under the blanket like previous times, but he thought he is a big boy now; he can’t hide under a blanket!
Then he heard the doorknob rattle, so with no other choice he quickly got into the closet nearby.
He crouched down and waited as footsteps came closer and closer to the closet.
Jaejoong felt his heart drum away and he held his breathe and put his hands over his eye praying the door wouldn’t be opened.
Either God is sleeping or too busy, for his prayers were ignored. The door opened anyways, and he counted the seconds ready to hear Junsu squeak, “Found you!”
But it never came.
Jaejoong slowly parted his fingers and peeked through them only to find the 17-year-old Yunho with only a towel covering the lower half of body, with droplets of water dripping down his tanned muscular chest. To Jaejoong, at such a young age, he thought he was looking at the body of a Greek God.
Yunho was even more surprised to see find someone hiding in his closet after coming out of the shower. But when he saw those adorable doe eyes peering out at him through the fingers, he knew right away that his brother and friends were playing yet another game of hide and seek.
“I heard some noise here! He has to be here.” Junsu squeaked to Yoochun outside in the hallway.
Jaejoong put a finger on his lips with round doe eyes watering signaling to Yunho to be quiet.
Only seconds later the door opened, but it was slammed shut as soon as it opened with a loud squeak from Junsu, “Min! Your brother is walking around the house naked!”
And then two sets of footsteps hurried away.
Crimson blush spread across Yunho’s face upon hearing that.
Jaejoong covered mouth again to stop his laughter. “Sorry hyung for disturbing you again.”
“It’s fine Jae, I still remember giving you permission to hide here.” Yunho quickly moved aside to make way for Jaejoong to get out. The blush never left his face.
“Thanks again hyung! You are the best!” Jaejoong tiptoed and give Yunho a quick innocent kiss on his cheeks.
It just so happens Junsu had dragged Changmin and Yoochun there that very moment so Changmin could ask his brother to put on some cloth.
“Ew! Hyung’s making out with a girl!!!” Changmin quickly closed his eyes and pushed his two friends out.
Junsu didn’t see anything since he was too afraid of seeing Changmin’s brother naked again, which could blind his innocent eyes.
The curious Yoochun, however, found the girl that Yunho hyung was supposedly making out with looks awfully a lot like Jaejoong, but Changmin pushed him out before he could look again to confirm.
This episode made the blush on Yunho’s face deepen and Jaejoong’s face flaming red as well.
“Sorry hyung for making the misunderstand you again, I’ll leave before causing you more trouble!” Jaejoong hurried out of the room before his face gets any redder.
“So that’s why my friends are always talking about how great it feels to be kissed.” Yunho stood there stunned in wonder while holding his cheeks that has just been kissed.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ A weekend years later, Yunho comes home from studying at the library to find Changmin and his friends sitting around the living room. They were all formally dressed in suits, looking like the popular flower boys on TV ready to go to an award ceremony. What caught his eyes though was the distressed look on Jaejoong’s face.
Yunho who has always seen cute bubbly Jaejoong, felt something tug at his heart when seeing him like this.
At the age of 17 now, Jaejoong has grown to be a beautiful flower, capturing the eyes of girls and guys alike. And Yunho who had previously thought he might have a tiny crush on Jaejoong was absolutely positive that he really likes the angel.
“What’s wrong?” Yunho asked when to break the gloomy atmosphere.
Jaejoong looked up at Yunho and locked eyes with Yunho for a second before he quickly looked away. With just that one look Yunho saw how troubled Jaejoong felt.
Changmin looked up and saw the curious and concerned look on his brother’s face. Thinking that his brother was older and wiser and might be able to help, so he decided to tell him, “Siwon asked Jaejoong to go to the prom with him.”
Yunho felt his heart break hearing that, but he forced himself to look calm, “What’s wrong with that?” He asked.
Even though he wanted to deny it, but he could almost swore Jaejoong casted disappointed glance at him.
“But Heechul likes Siwon and threatened our Joongie if arrives at prom Siwon then he will never see daylight again.” Junsu elaborated with fear etched onto his face. “No one at school dares to go against Heechul.”
“Why can’t he just reject him then?” The words slipped out of Yunho’s mouth almost way too fast.
“Siwon is persistent though. He said he knows Joongie doesn’t have a date yet, because everyone knows Joongie doesn’t have a boyfriend.” At this point of Junsu’s rambling caused Yunho to smile at heart, “So he says Joongie has no reason to reject him. And will pick Jaejoong up tonight. He will be at Jaejoong’s house in an hour.”
“Couldn’t he just stay here and not go?” Yunho suggested.
“Hyung, just because you never went to your prom, doesn’t mean our Jaejoong hyung can stay home like you.” Changmin threw a pitiful look at his older brother.
Junsu chirped in, “He was nominated to be the prom queen! He has to be there! He would make a lovely queen, don’t you think?”
Yunho nodded along with the others the while imagining Jaejoong in a nice gown with a glittering crown on his head.
Their school is an all-boy’s school that still wished to enjoy exciting events high school events, so the boys there nominated their most beautiful flower boys for their prom queen.
“I got it!” Changmin exclaimed.
Everyone quickly gathered around the genius waiting for him to reveal the solution to Jaejoong’s current dilemma.
“So hyung never went to prom before, and Jaejoong needs someone to go to the prom with so Siwon would force him to go with him… How about the two of you go together?”
With that Yunho looked to Jaejoong and Jaejoong looked back at Yunho. There was a certain hope shining in both of their eyes.
“What do you think hyung?” Changmin asked shaking Yunho out of his daydreaming.
“Um…” Yunho looked to Jaejoong to try to find any sign from this boy that he grew fond of. He almost lost his voice complete when he saw those big shinning doe eyes staring at him. “Sure… I don’t mind.” Yunho tried hard to mask the excitement he felt.
“Joongie what about you?” Yoochun turned to ask Jaejoong.
Before Jaejoong could even open his mouth Junsu chirped in to answer for him. “Of course it’s okay with him! This solves all the problems! Right Joongie?”
Jaejoong nodded slowly with a faint blush creeping up his cheeks.
“That’s settled then!” Changmin announced. Him and Yoochun got up from their seats and dragged Yunho into his room. “Junsu, you are in charge of getting rid of Jaejoong’s red eyes and keeping him happy!”
Within half an hour’s time, Changmin and Yoochun got Yunho in a suit and ready to go. The luxurious limo Yoochun’s family provided brought them to the prom scene.
At entrance stood Heechul and his gang waiting for someone. His glare immediately focused on Jaejoong as the angelic one made his way out of limo. However, his glare softened as he saw a handsome guy offer his hand to Jaejoong, and Jaejoong taken it with a sweet smile adoring his face.
“You are here Jaejoong.” Heechul said in a sugary sweet voice along with a fake smile. “And this is?” He looked to Yunho.
Jaejoong looked as well with a faint blush creeping up his face when he saw Yunho looking back at him waiting for his answer.
“Obviously he is Jaejoong’s date.” Changmin replied for him.
“Oh really?” Heechul smirked. “Well, nice pick. You made the right choice.” He hinted the correct choice Jaejoong made as not to be Siwon’s date. “I leave you to enjoy your night.” With that he left with his gang in search of Siwon.
Once he left, the five of them went into the venue enjoy their night. It didn’t take Yoochun and Junsu long to join the dance floor, and Changmin quickly found his way to the buffet section.
Yunho decided to take his chance make some advancement with his angel. “May I have this dance?”
His question took Jaejoong by surprise, but the sweet boy quickly nodded in response and let Yunho take his hand leading him to the dance floor.
The two of them melted into one on the dance floor with their worlds revolving completely around each other.
While enjoying each other’s company, a voice interrupted them.
“Jaejoong, there you are.” Siwon walks to the dancing couple and pulled Jaejoong out of Yunho’s arms. “Why didn’t you wait for me to pick you up?”
Jaejoong quickly glanced to Yunho for help.
“Excuse me, but Jaejoong is my date tonight. So of course he would be arriving with me.” Yunho said while sliding his arms around Jaejoong’s waist.
“Your date?” Siwon looked to Jaejoong for confirmation.
Jaejoong nodded and shyly buried his face in Yunho’s chest.
“Siwon, there you are.” Heechul showed up precisely at that moment and hooked his arms around Siwon’s dragging him away. “Come dance with me, let’s leave this couple to enjoy their night.”
Yunho noticed the uncomfortable aura around Jaejoong and led him outside to the garden.
“Are you okay?” Yunho kept his arms around Jaejoong and took at as a good sign when Jaejoong didn’t pull away.
Jaejoong hesitantly nodded, “I just hope Siwon isn’t mad at me… But if I didn’t do this, Heechul hyung would hate me, and I don’t want that.” He ended with a sigh.
“Don’t worry too much about it. Maybe Siwon is enjoy his time with Heechul right now.” Yunho tried to cheer him up.
Jaejoong slowly glanced up to Yunho’s face. “Are you enjoying your night?”
Surprised by the question left Yunho unable to answer for a moment.
With the lack of answer, Jaejoong’s head hung low again. “I’m sorry for dragging you into this. It seems like every time I’m trying to hide from someone you are always show up and save me. I’m sorry for being such a bother.”
Before Yunho could reply again, Heechul stood in front of them. “Hey Jaejoong, they will announce the prom queen soon. Let’s go get ready together!”
Since he didn’t want to burden Yunho any further, Jaejoong quickly accepted Heechul’s offer even though he had never really been on good terms with Heechul. Yunh could only watch as the two of them left for the restroom to get ready.
Not soon after they set foot in the restroom, Heechul paused, “Jaejoong, I left my stuff outside, I’ll go get it really quick.” He left without another word.
But when Jaejoong heard the loud slam of the door, he went to check to see what happened only to find the door locked.
“Heechul? Are you there?” He called out.
That’s when he heard Heechul’s bitter laughter. “Why do people think you are so much better? Siwon wont even dance with me tonight even when you came here with someone else. He said you are the prom queen tonight, and when the two of you receive the crown he will be able to dance with you and sweep you off your feet away from your date. Well guess what, I’m not going to let that happen. If you don’t show up for the award, it will be mine, and it will be me that will get to dance with him.” Then his angry footsteps disappeared down the hallway.
Jaejoong was scared. Everyone will be enjoying themselves tonight to check this restroom. If no one comes, he could be stuck here until Monday, 2 days later. What to do? Would his friends notice?
Minutes later they began announcing the prom king and queen of the year.
At that time Yunho felt nervous that Jaejoong isn’t by his side. ‘Did he end up joining Siwon to receive their crowns together?’ He thought anxiously. ‘No, that’s not like Jaejoong.’ Then he suddenly remembered Jaejoong left with Heechul, and Junsu’s words about the other boy, ‘What if something happened to him?’ With that in mind he dashed off to find Jaejoong. He ran up and down the hallways, checked all the empty rooms. Just as he was going to take a rest from the search, he passed the restroom and thought about going in to refresh himself a bit before looking for Jaejoong again. He pulled the door but it was locked.
From the inside Jaejoong heard someone turning the doorknob, and quickly seized his opportunity, “Is someone there?”
“Jaejoong?” Yunho was stunned to hear Jaejoong’s voice.
“Yunho hyung! Thank God you are here! This door is locked, can you get me out?”
“Let me try.” Yunho replied.
He backed up and then charged towards door with full force but the door didn’t open. Yunho tried and tried again and the door remained shut.
“Stop Yunho! Don’t hurt yourself!” Jaejoong’s heart ached from hearing the loud thumps on the door.
“Don't worry Jae, I’ll get you out.” Yunho said with determination and charged towards the door again.
Luckily it opened this time.
Tired from the force he used, Yunho slid down to the floor and Jaejoong rushed towards his side to check on him.
“Are you okay?” Jaejoong asked with full concern.
Yunho smiled. “Everything’s alright. I found you.” He then enveloped Jaejoong into a hug.
“Yunho…”
“You know Jae, I’m glad I’m always found you whenever you are hiding or even when someone is hiding you.” Yunho pulls away from the hug to look at Jaejoong into his eyes. Then he carefully spills his heart, “ I’m glad I found I found you in my life.”
Jaejoong pink lips curled up hearing Yunho’s announcement, and Yunho didn’t take any time before claiming those plump lips as his.
As expected, Siwon was announced to be the prom King, and Jaejoong to be the Queen.
However, after his name was called three times he still didn’t show up, they assumed Jaejoong wasn’t present and crowned Heechul instead.
When Jaejoong and Yunho made their way back to the dance floor, it was already too late to do anything. Heechul was already crowned queen and was dancing with Siwon happily across the dance floor.
“I’m sorry I didn’t find you earlier, or else you would have been the rightful queen.” Yunho says, tightening his hold on Jaejoong’s waist.
“I would make a beautiful queen wouldn't I?” Jaejoong replied cheekily. “But surely you wouldn’t want to see me in the arms of someone else right?”
“Of course not! You are my queen!” Yunho quickly answered. “My one and only. After all, it was me that found you.” With that he sealed his love for Jaejoong with another sweet kiss on those luscious pink lips he had always longed to taste. “Chajatta…”
