How We Deal with Brigands in Ischia (tag doc-suresh)

He and Mohinder were taking an evening stroll. It had become sort of a habit for them; Darvish needed to keep himself active. The sedentary lifestyle common in Mohinder's world was addictive, and he didn't want to let himself go. Not that he didn't exercise on his own, but... it was nice to get out together. He'd stopped, though, because some ( Read more... )

He hadn't meant to get so far ahead of Darvish. And certainly, Mohinder knew that this was not the best part of town to stroll through in evening hours. But his aloofness of being with his lover had caused Mohinder to lose his better judgement. Look where it'd gotten him! One minute he was bumping into a large man and apologizing, then the next he was being shoved into the alleyway ( ... )

"Bugger the Nine!" he gasped as Mohinder touched his arm. The bloodlust of the fight was fading, allowing him to actually feel the pain he was in. He grit his teeth. That was worse than a cut. It felt burned and torn, at once. But he had more important things to worry about. He gently pulled his arm away from the other man. "I'll be fine. What do we do with these One-abandoned cutpurses?"

Mohinder, as usual, didn't understand a damn word Darvish was saying. Fair trade for a situation that likely confused Darvish to all hell. "We call the police," he said, pulling out his cellphone and dialing 9-1-1. Mohinder held the phone between his ear and his shoulder and went about pulling his scarf off of his neck. "Hold still..."

He used the scarf to tie off the area of Dar's wound, trying to stop the bleeding. "Yes I need to report an attempted mugging. We're in the alley right before the corner of 9th and Main. You need to send an ambulance as well."

Darvish didn't like the sound of that. Ambulance. That was one of the white car things with the flashing lights. Right? He frowned. He hated all those damn machines. Why did they need one of those?

"Right, thank you." Mohinder hung up the phone and pocketed it, still fussing over Darvish's arm. "That was incredibly stupid, and incredibly sexy of you," he scolded. How could he stay mad at a man who had just saved him, though? Mohinder glanced down at the muggers to make sure they were still knocked out and then grabbed both sides of Dar's face, pulling him down for a kiss.

Ok, kissing was nice. He put his good arm around Mohinder, holding him close. Fighting always got his blood pumping. He didn't care if Mohinder thought he was stupid; he pretty much always felt stupid here. And fighting was the one thing he was good at.

Mohinder peppered Darvish's lips with kisses and then pressed their foreheads together, still holding onto his face. "You're so brave..."

He could hear sirens in the distance.

"I was just angry," he said softly. He could still feel it, seething inside of him. The nerve of them, touching his Mohinder.

Darvish winced at the noise. He'd never get used to how loud this place was.

"You're a hero." He kissed him again and then hugged his lover, careful not to disturb the wound. As the ambulance rolled up trailing a police car, Mohinder pulled away to tell them what had happened.

Darvish watched them uneasily, especially the ambulance. He could just tell this wasn't going to be something he'd enjoy. He trailed slowly after Mohinder, not wanting to get too far from the only person in this world he truly understood. Well, at least most of the time.

After giving the police a statement Mohinder helped Darvish into the ambulance. "Its alright, see? Not scary. Sit here." He took a seat next to him and held Dar's hand while the medics took a look at his arm on the drive to the hospital.

He glared at Mohinder as he was helped into the deathtrap. He knew it. He just knew it. "I'm fine," he growled at the healers when they tried to get at his arm.

"Darvish stop that," Mohinder said gently. He unwrapped the scarf from his lover's arm and set it aside. "I think he's a bit more comfortable with me," he told the medics apologetically.

He thrust his arm at the healers, scowling. Mohinder was making him feel like a child. How would he like being forced into strange contraptions for strangers to poke at?

The medics exchanged odd looks and then peeled Darvish's sleeve back to look at the wound, gently cleaning it. Mohinder took his free hand and stroked it softly, watching them work. Once they arrived at the hospital the medics informed them that Darvish would need stitches, so they got out and headed inside.

He stuck close to Mohinder, eyes widening as he took in the size of the place. It had to be as large as the palace at home, but with twice as many stories. Sometimes he missed the scale he was used to.
