America? [There's a hint of disgust as he repeats that.] How do I know you just haven't been smart enough to find a way out? If they've taken everything, there must be a way to regain it all and leave this place.

How many hundreds though? That's the real question. Besides, maybe they're all lacking in the intellect department as well.

This whole conversation is actually striking him as bizarre given what's happened at home, but then again, he wasn't expecting to find members of his family waiting here for him either.
