Gangs, Trains, and Radio Waves

I think the city missed me. Or i've been missing out on the city.

Either way, my story begins here: ahem.

My first post Christmas trip back to Brooklyn was quite a welcoming.
I waited for the Manhattan bound train on the platform with my dad.
3 minutes before the train was scheduled to pull into the station, this young puertorican guy dressed in clothes that were 10 times his size runs down the entire platform waving his arms and shrugging his shoulders yelling, "Yo! Fuckin cops! damn motha fuckers, damn! Fuckin cops, yo suck my dick mother fuckers suck my nuts damn bitches mother fuckin!"

I laughed.
My dad with this big ass smirk on his face told me not to get on the same car as them.
Train pulls up. I see him and his white eminem wannabe friend go in the second car so i go in the first.
And im safe!

not.

The water dispenser is located in the very front of the first car and i swear to you, i've never seen anything other than a camel consume as much water as the two of them did. They both went to get water together as if they couldn't pee without one another either.
But with each frequent water stop, before returning to their car, they'd turn around at me and either make deep breathing noises, or just stare, and at one point they went "shit she's fuckin beautiful, you're p*s*y ass won't go talk to her"...i hate that word.
As i'm reading and constantly peeking over the pages every time they come back..i look over to the vacant seats across the aisle from me and think "shit shit shit, please don't talk to me, pleassssssse dont' talk to me"

no worries they didn't ;)Luckily an off duty MTA dude decided to prop himself up in the seats across from me...muaahhaa

So anyways, the train stops at Yonkers and something hits the window i'm sitting next to making everyone in the first car jump up thinkin it's a damn gun shot.I look out the window and see the two guys making thug poses and kissy faces and ending their motions with a wink. I was happy they left.

Train pulls into Grand Central..and as it's coming to a slow stop, i stand up to get my bags and see someone a few seats up from me stand up at the same time and looks back at me. As he's fumbling around collecting his belongings, he makes several glances back at me.

At this point i'm thinking "Oh shit, he's probably wondering who the two jackasses kept buggin the whole ride." and then i thought "oh fuck, here's another weirdo to bother me"

Single file off the train and I'm on my own again. I see the strange guy way ahead of me, so i take my time as I'm walking through the main concourse of Grand Central towards the shuttle.
But as i'm making my way through, i realize someone is directly next to me.

Normally in Manhattan, when you feel someone is directly behind or near you. You do what some of us refer to as i'm-walking-extremely-fast-but-pretending-this-is-the-speed- at-which-i-always-walk-and-absolutely-nothing-is-wrong. As i began to do so, i heard someone ask, "So, where are you headed?" damn, i'm caught!

Afraid to even look over at the smut NYer who is trying to make small talk with me, i quickly glanced up to say "back to my apartment in Brooklyn" . but then i just kept looking cause shit, this guy was cute.

After a conversation about where I go to school, he tells me he works for Jive Records and is a DJ on Z100 which was where he was headed right at that moment. He used to be a DJ for K104 and asked if I ever listened to the station to which i responded "I'm definitely not a fan of radio" After the much entertaining "My landlords are crazy" stories I have, we ended up talking about my hometown. Turns out his ex girlfriend used to ride the short bus with me to school. No we're not tards. But we both lived on the only two mountains in the town where big buses can definitely not maneuver up.
He went and waited with me for my train and decided to take it with me one stop downtown to his stop, Penn Station where we exchanged numbers.

That night when I got back to my apartment in Brooklyn, I tuned into the radio for the first time in years. Between all the crap music and radio ads a plenty, i still managed to be extremely enlightened during my listening experience...for I had discovered a love for this thing some call 'radio'. ;)
