poor, poor LJ, how I have neglected thee. I'm never at home anymore so it's rare I actually get a chance to sit down and absorb the day-to-day events of my life. tonight is no exception but Scott's been sleeping for about an hour and I'm an insomniac so I've raided his laptop for my entertainment. I basically live here as of late so I'm sure he won't mind.

events worthy of mentioning:

Civic holiday weekend. wow, that was a crazy and fun long weekend. that Saturday me and Scott rented Clerks. holy goodness, one of the funniest movies I think I've ever seen. definitely in the top ten all-time favourite movies. for a briefer, the entire plot of the movie revolves around two guys, Dante and Randal, who run a convenience store and video store next door to each other respectively. very dialogue-y and situational humour. oh yeah, and it's all in black and white. Jay and Silent Bob are secondary characters (Clerks being the first in the series of Kevin Smith flicks). that Sunday I went to balloonfest downtown with Scott and his buddy, where I left them in the beer tent and got drunk/stoned with Keith and Lorissa instead, worrying poor Scotty to death. he wasn't aware of my wandering tendencies before that night. and then Monday. hehehehe. our roomies went to the beach that day, leaving the house to ourselves. we made shroom daquiris (fantastic, I highly recommend) and tripped out. it was his first time tripping on shrooms and he loved them. if you have the right kind of mind, they can be one of the most enlightening experiences possible and in his case, it was. it was a real bonding experience between the two of us as well which made the whole deal that much sweeter. I laid on the floor giggling for a good twenty minutes straight. he saw Berserker in his water cooler, bugs in his glass of water and thought he was Bono. oh yeah, and he's secretly in love with Johhny Depp. don't tell anyone.

Scott took me to Niagra Falls this past Saturday which was absolutely incredible. We had a wonderful time and followed it up with a camping trip from Sunday till this morning. We didn't fight once, although in a drunken stupor I got lost in the middle of the night coming back from the bathroom. I was wandering around site 60ish for a good twenty minutes (ours was site 281 on the other side of the camp) until the parks people drove by, realized I was lost as hell and brought me back to poor Scott who was looking up and down and everywhere for his drunk stupid girlfriend. stuff was said after that, some very very meaningful words I'm sure you all saw coming. (the good stuff, don't worry.) rest of the trip was uneventful but peacefully enjoyable. went to Canada's Wonderland today with mom and her friends which did, in fact, lick balls, but I found an awesome World Poker Tour shirt for Scotty. he liked it, I think :)

speaking of which, I've become the little chip hound as of late. I love poker and have recently been playing in no limit Texas Hold'em tournaments, winning money two times prior to playing and making some strong finishes the other times. Mine and Scott's five year plan is to become professional poker players (I'll have to wait till I'm 21 to play in the World Series of Poker but he can start without me, I'll just watch him on TV and slowly build skill) and to become mushroom farmers and that will be our lives. so ambitious, no?

for serious, school's becoming an impending thought of stress but I'm secretly looking forward to it. It'll be nice to hit the books again and learn something other than life lessons. This year I'm taking Forms of Fiction (English), European History from the 17th Century (think grade 12 World History, just at a higher level), Toltarianism (Nazis, Commies and Facists), Intro to Sociology (self explanatory) and Conceptual Physics for Non-Scientists (it's obligatory to take one science credit so this is the class designed for the idiots like myself who don't like the math in high school science (or didn't take it at all after grade 10) so I imagine it's going to be a lot of, "if you push this harder, this will go faster" type of stuff. abstract theories and explanations, right up my alley.) except for the physics at 7 on Wednesdays, all my classes are in the morning (930 start each day, some days ending as early as 11, others I have class till 130.) I'll be working at No Frills still, Tuesdays @ 1 and weekends so all you Clarke Roadians can still find me kicking around the bright yellow store.

it's been an incredible summer and although I haven't seen some people as much as I would have liked to (Gwen, Shelbie, Kasey, Gus etc.) you all know where to find me. well, maybe not, as my cell phone died in the rainstorm last Wednesday so if you know my home phone you can find me. or MSN. gotta love 21st century technology.

cheers, friends. hope you all enjoy the final stretch of freedom. wake me up when September ends, indeed, Billie Joe.
