I grew up listening to it because my mom did, then got into rock and stopped listening. I've recently begun to like some of it again, but it's selective.

Old, real death metal (Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden) was awesome. New stuff that's just pointless screaming and guitarists trying to play as fast as possible without any intent at all to try and write a good song or differentiate themselves...that sucks.

I've met a ton, not many that I would say are "famous" but well-known enough. I like to have the opportunity to have at least somewhat of a conversation with them as opposed to bitching for an autograph. Kris Roe from the Ataris is the one I'm most happy that I've gotten to meet.

a few friends are, not famously....and apparently I'm somehow related to Anne Murray.

No way. But the ones I listen to the most and the ones that have been the most influencial, yes. I can name a lot of lead singers.

Nope. I've never seen pictures other than the CD booklet (if that) of many of the bands I listen to.

I gain respect for them most of the time. It's good to see that people support the bands they like, especially if they're a smaller band. However, people who wear them because it's trendy and don't listen to the bands they "support" annoy me.
