Burnt Eggs
I love you.
He had been changing the position of his body on the couch as he tried hard convincing himself that that one sentence contains only three silly words- words silly enough to play with his whole being. He couldn't bring himself to say it to his dongsaeng. He just couldn't.
It's so terribly simple.
Curling himself into a human ball, the man bit his lower lip and began rocking his thin body back and forth with his head facing the television across from where he was sitting. Apparently even with the fuss he's been going through, he was watching an early morning drama.
Yes, Jungsoo. Like that man on TV, just say it.
Jungsoo kept on watching until the preview for next week's episode appeared. He puffed air in his cheeks and pouted as he stood up to get another glass of ice-cold water from the refrigerator. As he closed the freezer, he noticed the note taped on it with the words "I'm at the playground downstairs if you need me."
Bastard, I have always needed you.
Realizing how cheesy his thoughts had been, suddenly goose pimples on his arms started appearing. He rubbed them in a hurry, thinking as if they'll go away if he does that. Jungsoo hurried towards the window and looked down at the said playground below their apartment floor only to discover that Youngwoon was nowhere to be found, contradicting on what was written in his note.
What if he got himself into an accident or something?! A murder case maybe? Or kidnapping..?
Jungsoo physically slapped himself with both his hands. He knew he was over-exaggerating and that Youngwoon is a strong man to handle himself in dangerous situations like those. At least, that he knew. He'll come home soon, he thought, but was still a little worried because it was unusual for Youngwoon to be out after eight 'o clock in the morning. It's breakfast time after all, and he knew his roommate doesn't like missing a single meal.
I should prepare his breakfast for the mean time.
The man went back to the kitchen and took out two fresh eggs and some leftover kimchi from last night's late dinner from the fridge. Suddenly, he realized only at that moment when he was about to crack the eggs into the frying pan that he wasn't much of a cook and that Youngwoon did advise him not go near the stove since he burns everything he tries to cook. Boiling water for instant ramyun suited him.
No, Jungsoo. You need to make him fall for you.
Shrugging off Youngwoon's rather harsh advise or order, as he would call it, he began cracking the two eggs into the sizzling pan with the kimchi combined soon after. Surprisingly, everything began to run smoothly. Jungsoo, being a little too proud with his improvement on cooking, started whistling away with his eyes closed for some reason. Without noticing the eggs burning completely due to his little victory celebration, he soon danced the tension away from his body, even turning around eventually resulting to knocking the frying pan off the stove. Fortunately, he caught the handle carefully but only to find out that the perfect breakfast he hoped for isn't going to happen.
Oh dear God, this is not happening! Babo, babo! Youngwoon will never eat this crap. I will never be his ideal type... He wants a wife who at least knows how to restrain herself from dancing and concentrate on cooking. Damn. I have to clean this mess up and cook him another batch. I need to heat up the leftover rice, wash the dishes, make his breakfast look pretty, prepare his hot bath, take a shower, and.. and..!! I need to make sure he falls for me first before I say--
"Hyung?"
" I LOVE YOU!"
Jungsoo could not believe what he just said to Youngwoon who just arrived from his long, off-trailed jog. Shocked by the latter's sudden arrival, the words just came out from his mind absently. Afraid of what his dongsaeng would look like after that remark, slowly he turned to face him, terrified to death.
"What?" smiling, Youngwoon asked as soon as he saw Jungsoo's face covered in chili sauce from the kimchi.
"I was talking to myself! I'm a narcissist!" Jungsoo had to mentally facepalm himself. Yeah, like he'll believe something stupid like that.
The strong and much more bigger man than Jungsoo approached him. As he took each step closer and closer to him, Jungsoo could feel his heart beating fast. Knowing his dongsaeng for more than ten years, he was sure Youngwoon would scold him for being clumsy despite their age difference and for going near the stove even when he was banned from it.
"I'm sorry!!!" Jungsoo lifted his arms above his head as if he was caught by a police for stealing. "I just wanted to make you some breakfast. Spare me!"
Never in his life did he see his hyung acting like this. Youngwoon chuckled softly but Jungsoo managed to hear it. He laughed a lot louder when the older man raised his head to look up to him again. "Hyung, aren't you just adorable?"
Jungsoo was surprised that his eyes widened twice as big as before. He could feel a rush of blood coming up to his cheeks. Again, he slapped himself to make it look like it reddened from the force and not from blushing.
Youngwoon watched him as he wiped off the stains on his face and apron and even on the kitchen counter tiles. Seeing that he was about to throw the eggs down into the trash bin, Youngwoon grabbed a firm hold on Jungsoo's arm and asked him to serve it on the table for them instead.
"It'll be such a waste." Youngwoon flashed a grin along with his eye smile before he went and sat on one of the dining chairs nearest to him. He waited patiently for his hyung to finish plating up the unbelievably ugly-looking Fried Kimchi Egg he made.
Jungsoo, embarrassed of what he served, had nervously set the plates down on the table. He quickly added two glasses of orange juice afterwards. He quietly sat across Youngwoon who was intently observing his every move. Jungsoo grew more nervous when he met Youngwoon's stare.
"I should really stay away from the kitchen after this," he blurted out shyly to start a rather awkward conversation.
Youngwoon ate a mouthful of the burnt eggs and Jungsoo was able to tell from his expression that he had to force himself to overcome the bitter taste. "Hyung, this tastes terrible~!"
Although it was rude, Youngwoon said it in a cute tone. Jungsoo couldn't say anything more since he admits being a horrible cook.
"Also, even though you are really clumsy sometimes and really, really bad at cooking..." Youngwoon paused for a moment.
I hope he forgot about that I love you thing earlier or else-
"I love you, too, hyung."
"I love you for your imperfections and for who you are," he added, "and the best part is, you love me back."

A/N:
Okay, I gotta admit, I was really satisfied when I typed this.
Everything just came out rushing inside my head.
But hmm.. is the ending okay?
I had a tough time thinking of a title though so that's all I could come up with. :/
I hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I did. If not, I'm sorry. TAT
P.S.
I was really inspired by
this song. It's on replay as I typed this fic. Eargasm, indeed. ♥
