In a good way. Kind of. As I'm sure all of you have noticed, the economy sucks right now. And since I work retail, and retail has been doing particularly badly, my hours have been cut drastically. This has given me more free time than I really know how to handle. I mean, really three days off in a row? What am I supposed to do with that?
Well, I found a few things. The house next door hasn't been lived in for quite a few months and the realtor s aren't paying anyone to do the yard work. I decided I couldn't take it any more last month and started doing it myself. I was just going to mow the weeds and call it a day, but then I had a peek at the patio and the back. Oh dear. They have a lot of trees there and they've been dropping their leaves and the grass in the back was at least a foot high. I've since decided that the weeds look awefull and sprayed them with round-up last week. They've been dying very nicely and I was able to pull most of them up today. (After 3 hours I decided it was time to stop and eat something)I'm hoping to throw down california wildflowers and transplant stuff from our yard to there.
But that's not all. My bathroom ceiling has been peeling paint for a few years now and I finally got sick of that as well. I've spent the past couple days (besides today) peeling and sanding. I still have another days of sanding (at least) to get it totally smooth and then I need to paint it. Hopefully it'll stick better this time. Although, the guy at the store said that 10 years sounded about right for needing to repaint bathroom ceilings. Ahhh, well.
So, in conclusion, if I've been ignoring you I'm not really. I'm just busy. And exhausted. If anyone wants to kidnap me and take me to go get ice cream or frozen yogurt or something sometime I'm ok with that, too. Also, I thought I'd just point out that I've gone mad. I mean...ME? Being PRODUCTIVE? WHAT? WHAT HAS GONE WRONG WITH THE WORLD?That's it, someone must have figured out the answer and the question and the universe has been replaced with something far stranger and incoherent than before.
