The Swepan Natural History Museum is a great place.  There are two expansive floors filled with exhibit after exhibit and hundreds of places two very clever children could hide in for the night.  It's not hard to blend in with the museum crowd.  Backpacks, and passes, they can blend in with big families or with any school tour that happens to be ( Read more... )

Taiki wanders towards the display, head tilting back as he gets closer. Big ribs. Big pelvis. Big... teeth. Black eyes shift to the long long neck of the plant-eating dinosaur. He follows the line of the spine down to the tip of the tail.

So cool.

Lisbeth goes through the exhibit reading the little panels with the flashlight that she's holding. This is really something, for some reason, in the dark she almost imagines them coming alive and moving in the dark of the museum.

"Do you want to go up?" He asks, nodding towards the tall raised platform. "I will give you a boost." Walk among the dinosaurs, indeed.

"There might be an alarm on the platform," she looks over at him. "In case kids try and climb up there to touch the bones." But boy does she want to climb up on there. It's a long platform with a whole bunch of different types of dinosaurs on it.

A disappointed look is cast up at the giant T-Rex. He doesn't want to do anything that might get them in trouble -- especially Lisbeth. If it's so against the rules that there is an alarm then maybe he shouldn't be playing around with them. A small hum as he sighs and nods.

"Okay." Grim acceptance.

"It's a stupid rule, but I don't want us to get kicked out." It's as close to 'sorry' as they are going to get. Tilting her head she looks over the platform to see if there is actually some sort of sensor or alarm that would go off if they got on it. Other wise she would let Taiki get up there. She feels like she's raining on his parade a little bit.

Moving down the platform she takes a look at some of the other massive dinosaurs on display.

Unlike most youth, Taiki doesn't usually have the burning desire to do something when it's forbidden. However this... Is a special occasion. And very distracting. A glance over at Lisbeth and he stares, studying her aura. It's possible that her colors are being completely misinterpreted to rationalize what he's about to do.

"Here, come with me." He reaches for her arm, intending to lead her back to the door that they'd come through earlier.

Any other person reaching out and touching her, there would be a violent reaction against such a move. In fact when they first met she had one such reaction but since they've known each other for as long as they have, she doesn't pull away but instead moves with him.

"Where?"

He's not pulling. Not tugging her along like she's a ragdoll child to be positioned and arranged. If she had resisted then he would have immediately let go and apologized... But Lisbeth moves with him and so Taiki leads her back to the entryway. "I don't think there's an alarm. I will find out." And with that, he turns and strides back to the platform.

An unnecessary glance around the room as he ducks under the red rope. Except for Lisbeth, no one is nearby. Black eyes travel up the length of the nearest dinosaur, the top of the platform hitting just at his nose. Without hesitating, he grabs the ledge and jumps.

If the alarm goes off he hopes Lisbeth will run. He'll be right behind her. ...The museum should be big enough for them to hide. And without evidence to the contrary, the guards should just think it a malfunction. But theoretically there should not be an alarm. Because this is Swepan.

Should should should should should...

Taiki is so smart, he's got a great head on his shoulders and when he pulls her back toward the entryway she understands what he's doing. He'll check and if there is an alarm she can run and he can run after her. That makes a whole lot of sense.

Standing in the entryway she waits and watches him with her flashlight in the semi-dark room. She peers at him watching him give a big old jump up and on to the platform and makes it. She waits, there is no alarm, there is no running of feet.

Swepan is the best made up country ever. When she hears nothing she moves back to the platform with him and starts to scramble up after him. This is so exciting!

Taiki looks up at the bones in wonder. No alarm. Excellent. He reaches down to help Lisbeth up, doing his best despite being all arms and legs and no muscle. The fact that Lisbeth is half-sized as well works in their favor.

"They're big." He says in awe, staring straight up through the ribcage of the nearest skeleton. A hand reaches out and Taiki lets the tips of his fingers slide down a leg bone. Despite himself, a wide grin breaks across Taiki's face. This is the best night ever.

Once she's on the platform she is in as much awe as he is. It's amazing, the big bones and the massive monsters around them. Lisbeth thinks that perhaps they're not real bones, it seems to her that having real bones out in the open like this could be problematic - that they are just casts. Still, doesn't make this any less cool. Shuffling along with him she watches him touch the leg of the dinosaur closest to him and she smiles, briefly, for a second.

She is happy that he is happy, that he is here and not in some horrible school somewhere far away. If everything falls they are going to be in a heap of trouble figuratively and literally speaking. "They're monster."

Doing what you want is so much more fun than doing what you're told. He's never had a thought about disobeying but... They're not hurting anyone. They're not being destructive or bad. They're responsible and living out their days in a corner of a museum is a well thought out and good plan.

Weaving his way around the dinosaurs, Taiki attempts to silently take everything in. So much to look at... The sheer size is enough to boggle the mind. Crouching down, he pokes at a carnivore's toe-claw. Yep, that would hurt.

It's one of those big saber-tooth tigers and she reaches out to touch one of those big massive teeth. The big, vicious ones that curl out of the beat's mouth. "I want to be a saber-tooth tiger," if she could be one, if she was wayyyy back then she would want to be one. They're bad ass, and they are fuzzy and like most girls her age she likes fuzzy things.

"What would you like to be?"

"Pretending." Uh, yeah this is an area of expertise that she has no expertise in.

"If you had to live a million years ago what would you like to be?"
