So some estimations suggest that there may be anywhere from 100-400 billion stars within the milky way galaxy.
We have so far discovered 451 stars that have planets orbiting them. Estimates suggest that at least 30 billion of these stars will be very similar to our sun and at least 5 percent of those (1.5 billion) will have planets around them.
Assuming we find an Earth like planet, then we just have to figure out how to travel fast enough to feasibly get there.
