In reality, most of whats on my mind is Grad School, but I will spare you and instead talk about this weekend. Friday Spencer and I decided to have a chill night, meaning we let playoff baseball go in the background and consumed a bottle of New Zeland Pinot and then convinced the floor Spencer was my brother visiting for parents weekend. Basically Spencer is a pimp and is getting interviews from every major consulting firm. I cant wait to see what he does with his life.
Saturday Tingting and I plus 2 residents went to Wash U build, which was a fun and interesting experience. My resident Nathan and I hung all the kitchen cabinets in 6 hours, and I have to admit it looked damn good. We also did some ditch digging on breaks with the girls, which was more fun than it sounds. What really upset me though was the fact that although the recipients of these homes were SUPPOSED to be putting in sweat equity in exchange for getting a free 4 bedroom 2 bath home, but in reality the woman just sat on her ass literally the entire time. The only time she opened her mouth was to bitch that she didnt think her FREE cabinets matched her FREE hardwood floors and that her countertop wasnt coming until next weekend. Stuff like that and the rampant food stamp abuse I saw at Shop n Save just upsets me on a very deep level. Hundreds of people are giving up a saturday so these people can have homes, and they show no thanks whatsoever, as if they are entitled to a free home. I wish there was a way to weed out people like that from the system and really reward the people who are out there working their ass off and still not being able to make ends meet.
That night Erics party was a lot of fun, but in retrospect I should have just come back afterwards and gone to bed. Oh well, whats in the past is in the past. I am going to go to bed and wake up, put on a tie and rock this week.
