hey everybody. these last six weeks or so have been insane. summer session ate up all of my time...but now it's over! until school starts at the end of september i'll be working at the library and starting my internship to pay rent. i am a broke ass with no loans. not a fun situation. :)
so to celebrate the end of these hectic days, i took kara to the winchester mystery house in san jose yesterday. afterwards, she showed me around santa clara university (where she did her undergrad work). i love that a jesuit institution can be so defiantly queer-friendly on so many levels. after we sat in the hallways of the english department for a good chunk of time--in a building from the late nineteenth century--we had dinner up in north beach. it was such a wonderful day!!
i'll throw up a link to the album. i hope ya'll enjoy the pictures. note: on the tour of the house we had to make our own fun and kept getting in trouble for lagging behind. the tour guide was so obnoxious and cheesy. i also had a problem with the fact that not one thing was mentioned about the people who were killed by the guns, supposedly the same people who were haunting sarah winchester. what an unbelievably problematic california landmark. and not surprising.
ya'll will have to copy and paste because i hate livejournal and can never figure out how to put a link in
