Discussion of the inherent meaning or lack thereof in the First Line Poetry meme has led me to try a slightly different version:
Instead of purely random tunes, I picked the artist with the largest number of tracks in my media player and had it pick 21 random songs (one for the title) by that artist. Since the authorship is the same in every case (except for the occasional tunes he covers, of course), I figure we ought to get something closer to a single vision.
Of course, since the artist in question is
Robyn Hitchcock, that vision may be a tad skewed...
I Watch the Cars Go Back and Forth
Linda Ryan,
My favourite buildings are all falling down.
I saw Nick Drake.
The frogs are mating on the table,
a rich fat pussy with nothing to think
in agony of pleasure.
Furry green eye in a furry green hole...
You'll never have the damn thing out.
Keep finding me,
men expect to be inspired.
I'm sitting here in the abandoned brain
Early one morning the sun was shining,
he came bursting out of nowhere.
I feel beautiful.
Wave on board with Captain Dry...
Television, say you love me...
Oh, do policemen sing?
Last night I dreamed an angel kissed me...
I won't breathe and I won't snarl and I won't even come
It don't feel much like a home without a dog
Then again, maybe that "single vision" thing is overrated.
