Travel. One of the most distasteful things we have to do, especially when our own vehicle is out of commission. We couldn’t stay in that town, especially not after Ely did

All I want are some fucking Junior Mints to help with the headache I feel building behind my eyes. Yet the goddamn machine won't give them up. I'm about to put my fist through the glass when I hear footsteps behind me and a somewhat familar voice call my brothers name.
My shoulders automatically tighten and the headache assaults me in full. I turn slowly and look at the woman behind me. Her dark hair covers half of her face but I can still see that she has a puzzled look on her face as she sees me. I shrug and try to put on my most charming and harmless smile. "Sorry, no. I'm Dean. Your Lenore right? Well sorry Lenore, Sammy's not here." I turn and kick the machine which finally gives up and rewards me with my treat. "Now excuse me I have a date with my bed." I turn to the side and try to walk as fast as I can back to my room without running.
I return the puzzled look that Dean gives me when he looks at me, telling me in more ways than one that Sam wasn't around. I gazed at him as he took out his anger and frustration on the candy machine. "Dean, I..." my voice faltered and I cocked my brow at him, wondering where Sam could be if he wasn't with his brother
( ... )
I lean against the door and breathed hard. Shit shit SHIT! Why am I acting like this. It wasn't right, just the sound of Sam's name set him on edge.
Than there was Lenore. She embodied the turning point of when everything changed, when they started second guessing their hunts. When Sam first started keeping his visions to himself.
I look down at my hand holding the candy and see it shaking, fuck this! I whip the box at the wall and rip the door open stalking out "Lenore!" I needed to know what she was doing here "Lenore!" I needed to know if she knew anything about Sammy "LENORE!" I needed to know if he sent her to kill me...
I end up at the entrance to the office when I hear Dean screaming my name. Dropping my bag I turn back and cross my arms, giving him an even glare. "What? The entire town knows my name now you know. Apparently a girl can't have any secrets can she?"
Sighing heavily, I kick my bag away from the door and lean against the wall, waiting for Dean to come towards me. There was no fucking way I was walking back to him; not after how he tried to blow me off only moments ago.
I licked my lips and brushed my hair away from my eyes as he approached me. "Well, Dean. That was an awful quick date with your bed...Did you remember to leave a towel and a tip?"
I stop dead and feel a bit stupid for howling like an Idiot. I'm on edge and not thinking straight, I am running on nothing but pure 'piss and vinegar' as Dad used to say.
So I ignore her quip, and plow forward.
Because I needed to know..."Did Sam send you? I know you thought I was him but that could of all been a ploy, who the fuck knows? But I need to know now." I walked closer and invaded her personal space, tilting my head to look her in the eye "Are you here to kill me? Or do I have to kill you first?"
He changes tactics and I shake my head up at him, trying to read his expression and past the armor he display's for all the world to see. "What?" That seems to be the only logical response to his current lunacy.
"You smelled like him." I arch myself off of the wall in an attempt to get him to pull away; I only find myself closer to him. The warmth of his body seeping into mine as I cock my head to the side. "You and your brother - alive or dead - is the last thing on my mind right now Dean."
I brush my hair away from my face again, glancing down at my fingers and noticing the makeup that I put on long ago was starting to fade away. I could only hope now that it was dark enough for him not to see the bruise.
I let loose a breath I didn't realize I was holding in and go to move away from her as she brushes her hair away from her face. "I..." I go to say more but stop short as I think I see a shadow of something on her, in her eyes "sorry, it's been a long couple of days." I clear my throat and eye the motel office where she had been headed moment's earlier "I'll let you" I motion to the office "..get back to whatever, sorry again." I go to walk away and stop again, not thinking 'She's a vampire! evil! stay away!' or that she could be an asssasion sent by my apparently now demonic brother. Only thinking that she looks like a tired and injured girl "Are you alright? I mean...forget it." I pause and look at her again "Wait, did you just tell me I smell?"
I can't help but snort. "For you and me both." I let out an unneeded sigh and bend down to pick up my bag and head into the office. He makes a comment about smelling and I shake my head; looking over my shoulder I look at him in disbelief. "For a demon hunter you seem to be quite stupid."
With that I leave him and head into the office. The man behind the counter smells and I can't help but turn my nose up at him. "I need a room." Short and to the point.
He looks up at me and turns away, pointing up to the sign on the window.
"Fuck." With a sigh I shake my head, heading back out of the office as the red 'no rooms after midnight' sign lights up the street. It only takes a moment but I head down to the other end and go to the last place I would have thought.
Knocking softly on Dean's door I wait for him to answer, hoping that this isn't going to come and bite me in the ass. Or worse; get my head cut off.
blinking at Lenore's retreating back I head back to my room and collapse on one of the beds fully clothed. I have no Idea why I asked for a room with double beds, force of habit I supposed, but it was strange not having Sammy here. Not having to listen to him snort or whimper in his sleep. Not having to listen to him whine on how his freakishly long legs wouldn't all fit on the bed.
I lay there for a few moments staring at the ceiling fully clothed waiting for sleep to claim me when I hear a knock at my door. Grabbing the shotgun filled with rock salt I look out the doors peep hole to see Lenore standing there looking none too happy.
carefully I put the gun back behind the door, but in easy reach, and slowly open it "Sorry, i've already had my turn down service for the night but you can leave a box of those mints outside the door. I love those things."
"Sorry, all out of mints. But I do have a nice consolation prize." I hand him a stick of gum as I rotate my jaw at Dean's comment and for a moment I contimplate just walking past him when I think twice and decide against it. "Can't get a room." I drop my bag down, hearing it thud loudly against my boots and the doorframe.
Digging into my pocket I hold up two twenty-dollar bills up to his face. "I'm taking the spare bed." I announce, watching the look on his face before moving closer and using this as my time to invade his space.
I pause a moment before using the time to make my way into the room, leaving my bag at the door. "Leave it there for all I care, I can't carry that fucking thing anymore." With a frustrated sigh I sit down on the nearest unmade bed, laying back with a heavy sigh. "No, nothings alright but it's fine now." I lean my head up and look at him still standing by the door. "Granted you'll put up with me for a few hours. I like my skin unkrispy okay?"
I have to smile at the girls guts. But than I guess you would have to have guts to be the one of your kind to turn against the grain. I unwrap the gum and pop it in my mouth as I bend over and grab her bag. The thing weighs a fucking ton but I try not to let it show as I move it next to the TV stand. I look at her lying on the other bed and am suddenly too tired to argue "Fine you can stay the night." I throw her money back at her "Just no nibbling, I'm not your midday snack." Kicking off my shoes I collapse back onto the other bed and try not to think about the weirdness that is me letting a VAMPIRE stay in my room.
I laugh shortly and smooth my hands over my jeans. "Incase you haven't noticed the night is over." I watch as he moves over to the other bed, the tension in him quite obvious to me
( ... )
I don't open my eyes as I hear her messing with the microwave, but I almost puke as the smell of warm blood wafts over to me. I reminds me too much of being back in the roadhouse.
I press the heels of my palms against my eyes willing the images in my mind to go back to the dark corner I had banished them to. I turn my head and look at her when she asks me the question I've been dreading.
Letting out a short bitter laugh I answer "A fight, that's putting it lightly. Sam's gone Lenore, there's something out there that's looking for me that Looks like my brother. But the person you knew is Dead for all I know." I fight back the tears I can feel burning behind my eyes I am Dean Winchester and I will not let a damn Vampire see me cry. " I need to find out why this happened. I need to get him back. But I have no Idea where to start."
I listen in silence as he rants on about Sam being dead. When he's finally finished I shake my head and roughly run my fingers through my hair. "Bullshit." Straight and to the point.
With a sigh I move over onto the bed next to him, keeping a bit of distance as I tentatively rest my hand on his arm. "I didn't mean for it to come out like that; but it is. You'd know if your brother was dead. You'd feel it. You would have known long before it revieled it's self to you." I pause and wait for him to look at me. "You're not a stupid man Winchester; you would have known. There has to be another explination to what's happening."
I start a bit at her sitting next to me but than I relax and open my eyes to look at her. She really was quite beautiful...for a blood sucker, And she was right. I would know if Sam was dead.
"It must of happened at the Roadhouse when I was looking for Ash. Something must of got him while I was gone." I sit up and look her straight in the eyes
"Your right. There has to be some other explaination. Think, Dean Think!" I run a hand through my already messy hair and curse "Fuck, his visions. Someone had to have been controlling him through his visions." I nod my head "Which makes sense in why he wouldn't tell me about them." I smile my first real smile in days "Lenore your Brilliant! I could kiss you right now!"
I nod and listen to him for a moment. "You're right, you'll find things out in time. If you keep running on half-cocked then you're not going to get anywhere but nowhere."
Reaching out I place my hand on his again, trying to get him to calm down and focus when he mentions something about kissing. I only heard half of what he said.
"Dean?" I mutter up at him with questioning eyes. I'm not sure what the fuck he meant by that, I'm not sure if I want to see what he meant by that but... He is quite pretty to look at. "Don't tease me boy, I've had a hard ass day and I could use..." a release.
