It's now less than a fortnight until I set off on the sleeper train north from London to Inverness for my ride from John o' Groats to Land's End. So how difficult will it be for me to:
a) Get an Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PC in time to take with me.
b) Set it up for use.
I'm thinking this would be the best way for me to blog the trip - can write stuff up for later upload for times with no internet access (which will be much of the time).
Bearing in mind that I'll also have my 20GB i-river with me, I should have no problems with storage. I'm hoping wahtever OS I get on the thing will work with my mapping software.

Setting it up - well, it comes with Open Office, which is done and dusted. Then it's just to do with getting photos onto it, edited and off it.

People have been asking anyway if I was doing anything for charity on this ride, so I decided to raise some money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute while I was at it.

I'm using the justgiving site so that I don't have to collect any money myself and there's no danger of it "resting in my account" in a Father Ted style. I'll post more about this another time (especially on my climbdown vs fundraising)
